[1/19] Smile

There's such pain and desperation in that smile... I see we're gonna have many an "aww" reaction to her.

I worked about a year at a Target once before I couldn't stand it anymore. I think I had a smile like that. I'm already developing sympathy for Amber.

Speculation: Amber can't smile properly because she's an Android with imperfect synthetic skin. She steals a single dollar out of the register every day with the intention of eventually implanting herself with the capacity to coat herself with a hologram, thus allowing her to have an infinite capacity to disguise. At this point she will murder Galasso and take his reign for herself, but Ethan will eventually notice that Amber and Galasso are never seen in the same place anymore. The newly-instituted government organisation SEMMF will be called in to help defeat the robot madness, thus giving the opportunity to introduce two familiar semi-regulars.

It's pretty obvious when you put it all together.

I got confused initially by the layout of this comic; the black between the panels conflict slightly with the black in the backgrounds.

Fake smiles are creeeeeeeeeeepy... :o

Yeah, smiles that don't come often. I think we'll see a nice smile from her yet! *hi everyone, new guy*

Poor girl... she looks like she could use a vacation already. I suppose I have a natural sympathy for the overworked and underappreciated, since I go to a college where everyone is, of course, overworked and underappreciated.

I know that smile all too well... I work in a Deli, and I have a feeling that I have that kind of smile plastered on my face for most of my shifts. Makes it kinda hard to talk.
