No aliens in this strip, at least.

There weren't any aliens in the very first Roomies, either.

Soon it will be about Mechs.

How does one justify naming a toystore "shortpacked", I wonder?

Ah well, I am happy, the new strip beggineth.

Okay, well, I'm wondering who the two characters from Roomies/IW are who have
"no baggage" and will eventually appear in the strip regularly. Doesn't everyone
have "baggage," save maybe for Robin? Unless that's a diversion and the characters
are the baggage-rich Jason and Sal (who'll be married with children when they
show up).

I'm guessing Robin and Joe as additional co-workers for Shortpacked; it could happen.

I hope it's Robin. I didn't get enough of her in It's Walky.

How long? For quite a while. I doubt this will be "It's Walky: The Reprisal." Baggage-free, Willis said. This strip is meant to be as distant as possible from It's Walky; in fact, it probably would be a wholy different world but for the sake of the convenience of reusing a pre-made universe with a few underdeveloped characters ready for recycling.

So who're the holdovers? Joe's got baggage, plus a promising career in advanced robotics. I say he's a possibility, but odds are against him.

Danny, perhaps? He was into all the comic book stuff. But again, he's got baggage. And a career (in something I can't remember).

Robin's a shoo-in for the spot, since she got too little screentime back in Walky. She seems too important to be just a secondary character.

But my money's on Howard.

I admit I was thinking it'd be funny to see Bart O'Ryan working blue-collar in a toy store, but I doubt he'll give up that law degree that easily.

Eh, but with my track record, I'm probably completely wrong and Shortpacked is actually a front for a United Kingdom ninjitsu academy combating mutant Alien monkeys in giant transforming mechanized humanoid armors built by Joe for a soulless megacorporation bent on dominating/protecting the world from an underworld of genetically-enhanced terrorists bent on similar globe-domination plans who are led by the holoprint of a memory of Walky's descendant three thousand years into the future, arrived at this timeline through Martian remnants manipulating the matrix for their own sinister deeds, masking a hidden hope for their dying people to be found in an ancient Babylonian artifact underneath the Shortpacked ninja fortress, brought here by an asteroid that wiped out the intelligent reptilian humanoids, of which Bart O'Ryan is the psionic guardian, taught by his master, One, who was the progenitor of the Alien and Martian races, who is now involved in an Alien plot to send another asteroid to destroy the earth, so that only RoboCar and the Hero Squad, which is actually SEMME agents unknowingly manipulated by the Shortpacked ninjitsu academy, can go and plant a nuclear mine on the asteroid, to blow the asteroid and the alien mutant virus it carries. And then Batman saves the day. Cuz Batman owns all.

Oh, come on, that's just too darned obvious and logical to be the case. :)

(Klyfix is pointlessly amused that a report on "BBC World News" on PBS at the
time I first posted features a reporter named David Willis.)

He absotively posilutely must NOT name it after where he works. The company he works for (Toys 'R' Us) is violently protective of their trademark, and has been known to sue any business, large or small, for putting *any* letter backwards in their or any name, or for using an 'R' to mean the word 'are', in any phrase. They also aggressively defend the use of their trademark in any media, even if they aren't *in* that market.

We had a big chain here called "Tools R Us", and the entire chain had to rename themselves to "Post Tool" after they lost their lawsuit.

(I used to be a TRU stockholder. They used to brag about their trademark protection unit in the annual report.)

So has Toys "R" Us ever sued Tet "R" Is?

Fools! Peons! Clearly the returning IW! characters will be Robo-Vac and Ultra-Car. Possibly just in toy form.

-=-Barnabas

P.S. Has anybody ever noticed that Robo-Vac and Evil Silhouette Guy look very similar? Maybe they're the same person!
