The middle word woudl have to be equidistant from either end of the alphabet. Giving "aardvark" a value of 1.001 and "zyzzyva" a value of 26.999, we find the average value, which is 14.

Therefore the middle word is likely to be "nab".

That's assuming all the alphabets have equal number of words, which we know is not true.
