I have a new computer. It's true - you can't prove it's a lie!

I do, tho. And it's right nice, by my standards. Runs at blistering speeds compared to my old rig (see, I called it a rig, that means I'm not a nerd!).

I'm not gonna start comiccccing propppper again until after I return from Loose Vegas, which will be November 5th (Wednesday, I think) but I'm gonna throw something on the site tomorrow to commemorate yet another return for me and my monkey.

Oh yeah, I'm going to Vegas! Ostensibly to attend the comic-con for a couple days, but really I plan on getting trashed and throwing money at the already disgustingly wealthy casino tyrants. FUN!

Some more big news: I bought a Wacom tablet. It's a tiny thing, but I'm going to use it to seriously begin work on a cartoon project that a partner and I have been devising. I say this with no bias - If this cartoon is ever created, it WILL be one of the funniest things on the internet.

Seriously, I know people out there like homestar runner - But it's shit, really. This cartoon will pound it's innards into pulp.

I happen to have partnered with one of the craziest and funniest minds in the parking industry, and together we'll skyrocket to fame in a goldplated tinwhistle to infinity!

I really do think homestar runner is lame. I know there are people who disagree, but they are wrong. I guess the fact that it appeals to a "wide range of viewers" is what makes it "great" but personally I find it irritating and unfunny to the point of being difficult to watch.

I got into cartooning because I admired Sluggy Freelance and Goats, I'm getting into animation because I hate homestar runner.

This may be an illustration of the evolution of my character over the years, I'd like to think of it as brilliance rising from the ashes of feces.

I haven't tooted my own horn in awhile, it feels good. But it'll be doubly discracing if I fail.

I won't.

ADDENDUM: I guess I won't be posting anything tonight as I have A)Lost my scanner's driver disk and B) Lost my Keenspot FTP password.

I'll hammer this shit out and get something up before I leave on Saturday.

I assume most people have reverted to checking the site once a month (if that), so this will probably not affect many.

excellent news, both on the "new project" front, and the "new computer" front. would you like some silly pictures sent to you to commemorate the occasion?

Whatever you make up would be better than the real deal.

Check out this lame shit for now, maybe more comics in future.

hmmm.. i guess you just need to find an obsessiver/compulsive friend/aquaintance and suck all their life/fluids out of them (particularily their brain chemicals), so as to impart upon yourself the necessary drive/mania that keeps other webcartoonists (such as myself) plugging away even when all hope is long gone.

so, you know what?
I'm now declaring this the time to do an official one-sided jaV/Deathworld crossover (mainly because i feel sorry for your writer's block and wish to somehow boost my ego by helping a "mainstream, big-time" webcomic off it's feet in it's time of need.

yes, i have nothing to do this weekend besides make jaV inspired comics.

fear me.
biatch.

of course, that was before my apathy and laziness got the better of me and i ended up slacking off all weekend.
so i guess there'll be no fearing me anytime soon.
*sigh*

although, i did get a story written - well, the first two comics worth, anyways. it's hard to get the jokes & dialogue written to fit into 3 or 4 panels. maybe i'll just do some fanart for practise for now.

eh, whatever, it's not like anyone's gonna notice, eh?

oh, i've probably had apathy longer than you've been drawing comix, young'un.
i'm looking forward to what you got planned for x-mas, though.

It's a secret, but since no one reads this - I'll spill.

Remember that never finished x-mas storyline? Well, I've had the last 3 comics done for - well about a year I guess, but never scanned them. What I figure that I'll do, see - is post all of them at once, plus an alternate ending (cause I was never completely happy with the ending anyway) and then it'll be like a choose your own adventure type ending. dig?

The way I see it, that X-mas storyline is as easy as anything to pinpoint as a hiatus-infected germ. It's been started and stopped twice before, and the only way to cure the disease is to finish it! ONCE AND FOR ALL!

I like to be overly grandiose, because it makes me sound cool.

I've been reading, just I did a reformat slightly after my last post and lost all my cookies. Being generally apathetic, it took me quite awhile to get around to doing a password retrieval.

Also, I usually forget to check sites more than once or twice a week these days.

Nice to have you back, coron. Your absense was like one of those holes inside the donut of my heart. My delicious, sprinkle-coated heart.

I just realized the jaV index.html is 78k

and the comic I just uploaded is 89k

I need to do something about that.

My gears are turning.

homestaw

Postby p4rty_cl0wn on Mon Jan 12, 2004 1:56 am

Homestar may infact be an internet feces repository, but there is one aspect of it that i find frighteningly well done. The voice acting. You must not fail in this aspect of an animated online extravaganza Sims! for if you do you shall forever wear the shameful cowl of a n00b, and not even the tender caress of zombie jesus will save you!

The voices will be hilarious and well acted. I remember watching an episode of HR where some coach can't pronounce words correctly, and I found it powerfully gay and painful to tolerate.

So I don't know what the poop your talking about.

Also, homestar's voice sounds like gas escaping from the carcass of a moose when a toddler jumps on it.

I mean from a toddler when a moose jumps on it.

either way.

I never said the voices did not contain a painful amount of the gay. What i find so good about them is that they are distinct, there do not seem to be underlying similarities between the voices, although i'm not sure if i should attribute that to vocal control or just many actors, if it is the latter it is decidedly less impressive.

I also appreciate that some effort was put into the process of editing and recording the voice tracks. Audio levels are consistent and clear, it does not sound like something recorded on a microphone that you get as a free prize in generic brand cereal.

I'm not attributing the above negatives to you se

The cartoon's on hold anyhow, since we're currently shooting an independent horror film in the vein of Bad Taste and the Troma movies.

When we get to recording voices, we are going to have some dank digital recording equipment and I wouldn't let anything subpar sneak thru.

The movie, however will be very subpar, but hilariously enjoyable.

Quantity over Quality. That's the motto.

Interesting development on the movie project tonight - we stole a baby carrier someone left in the garage some months back. We're going to use it as a dolly.

Dolly shots are cool.

Good luck with the moose.

I'm not familiar with the Troma movies but i did get several chuckles and a guffaw out of Bad Taste, so i'm going to see if i can get a line on where to download Troma.

What recording equipment are you going to be using for the movie? and do you have a place to serve it so it can be shared with the general public?

Does the dolly have swiveling wheels or fixed?

I think i'll be able to handle finding the moose allright, i plan on hopping the canadian border and asking the first syrup drinking lumberjack hockey player to loan me his.

Troma (Lloyd Kaufman) have spent years and made thousands of dollars making the crappiest movies money can buy. Everyone's heard of the Toxic Avenger, right? They're the king of cheese. You can find a catalogue of their shit and downloadable funstuffs at http://www.troma.com

We're using a handheld digital 8mm with a shotgun mic that actually gets remarkably good sound. It's gonna be cheesy, but fun to watch. The working title has been changed from 'Crappy Robot' to 'Heavens to Murderdroid'.

The baby carriage had swivelling wheels, but one of them broke when Billy (http://www.justanothervice.com/pics/billy.jpg) and Chad rode it down the ramp in the parking garage.

Asking a lumberjack for his moose is like asking a man for his woman. You're better off clubbing him with a bottle of Grey Goose and stealing it.
