Me & the family went to the Museum of Natural History today. We went downstairs to the cafeteria, and found an empty table in the corner. It only had 3 chairs, so I turned to the table next to us to ask if we could borrow a chair, and seated there was <A HREF="" TARGET=_blank>TOM SAVINI !!!</A> I about choked.<P>I said, "Are you using this chair?" And he said, "No, go ahead." So I added, "I'm a big fan, by the way." And he said, "Oh, thanks a lot!"<P>And that's it. But it was cool.<P>------------------

Heh, yeah.. I've actually had a couple Savini-spottings over the past few years. I used to work at Abate' up in Fox Chapel, and Tom and the fam came in to eat one night. Let's just say consider yourself lucky you've never waited on 'im. Not that he's a bad diner or anything, he just doesn't tip for shit.

The best one, though, is the time I ran into him at the Monroeville Mall of all places. The irony alone...

Anyway, I came up to him and my brain seized.. the only thing I could think to say was "Dude.. you rule." No shit. *foreheadslap* Not one of my better moments.

I used to know a girl who waitressed at Abate. Must have been ten years ago, though.

For those who don't know, Monroeville Mall in Pittsburgh was where Dawn of the Dead was filmed.

So Tom stiffed you on tips, huh? Huh.

It's funny that you should bump into Tom like that, I acutally saw two of his movies this week, Martin and Maniac. If you haven't seen Martin, I suggest viewing it; Maniac can be passed.
