Maybe I'm not enough of a webjockey to really care a lot about this, but I haven't come across a pop-up I couldn't close, delete, or ignore to my satisfaction yet. If I find it was a cookie from a pop-up ad that got me signed up to the Porn-site-of-the-week email from ClasslessIdiots.com, I'll change my opinion, but until then, I'll click X and keep reading.
Or am I missing something?
------------------

Do the advertisers pay Keenspot for just RUNNING the pop-up ads, or do they pay based on how many people CLICK the pop up ads? If it's the former, I say bring 'em on. I have my trusty pop-up window stopper installed, so I can view my comics in peace and cartoonists can get the money they need. I love loopholes
------------------

I used to feel strongly that Keenspot should ban pop-up ads. But whenever I leave Keenspot, pop-ups come at me from out of nowhere! If everywhere else you go on the web has pop-ups, Keenspot might as well have them too.
At this point, I'm all for cartoonists making money off their art. And if closing little popping boxes will help, then I'll close little boxes!
*Note: The opinions expressed above are mine and mine alone. Don't assume that because I feel this way, anyone else does.

Pop-up ads = revenue for you guys. It's as simple as that for me: anything that brings money to my favorite webcomics is fine by me.
------------------

Go for it.
I don't mind pop-ups. If I see one I don't like, it only takes a second to delete it - and, if it results in more money for you, I might even respond to some of them
Dave
------------------

WOW! PC bashing at it's finest! Can't we all just get along? This reminds me of the differences between Yankees fans and Mets fans. If you're a Yankee fan...you have to bash all Mets fans. And Visa-versa (Or Mastercard-versa). And we could probably fill this thread with hundreds of explanations as to which one is better for what reason, what purpose, etc. etc. etc. I say, life is too short to spend time complaining about this issue and . . . . wait a minute, Life is too short to spend on this message. I'm going outside to ride a bike.
------------------

You missed the winky ( ), which of course applied to the "going outside" part of Dr. Scottie's posting. This part was the jest; Scott's actually firing up Bobby Bimmix's Bike Riding 2002 for Playstation 2.
--------------------------

well since everyone is agreeing with what I feel I'll let others make a more impassioned response. I love the concept of keenspot (hey I even bought some of the comic books) and I hope it stays around. If the pop ups work..go for it. Some will click and some wont. I mean even the larger sites.. ucomics.com and unitedmedia.com use pop ups and interstitials.

Heh. If pop-ups bother you, why not spring for Keenspot Premium? (Although I have it, and still get ads, but our internet setups a little odd...)
