Too young?

Way to make me feel old. Tron was my favorite movie when I was little. ;)

Thank you. Knew I'd heard that somewhere but couldn't recall where.

Yes, thank you. I was having the same problem as bloodeye.

As far as youth goes, something just occured to me. The comic doesn't move in real time. I believe our esteemed artist said it only moves at about one year for every three years of real time.

So have I caught up to Gav's age? How old is he supposed to be?

Think it's sorta like Bullet Time.... rather elastic. Sometimes a 'day' will take several months, other times, month will pass between two panels. The 3:1 thing is just a rough average.
That said, I've no idea how old either Gav is.

I think of Gav as being currently around 30. I'm sure there's some evidence to the contrary, though, that someone could dig up.

For instance, I believe Gav once said something to the effect of, "You don't spend 10 years in grad school without learning *something*." One could infer from that that at the time, Gav was 32 and must therefore be about 35 now. But then I would point out that "10 years" was likely hyperbole.

Incidentally, I now work at the lab (Lawrence Livermore National Lab) where the laser facility part of Tron was filmed. One of these days I'm going to have to go search for that door.

Leave notes, a map, and your desktop running before you do so.
Ya know, just in case....

Already meet Lain and Max Headrom.
I'd be nice to meet GAV in person.

(Relatively speaking.)

That reminds me of how the real Cheyenne mountain military base has a door with 7 locks labeled "Stargate Command." It's actually just a broom closet.

Ah yeah, see, I was right. Here's a reference I ran across recently:

http://www.nukees.com/d/20030711.html

That was 4 years ago "real time," which if you use the 1/3rd time rule, puts him at about 30 or 31.

I guess that's not "contrary." So I'm actually consistent? Go figure.

Well, that strip *could* be interpreted as "I'm 34 and I had a hot girlfriend when I was 5, but I don't like to talk about her because of the cooties."

My hair-splitting-fu is strong!
