5 Second Rule

Of course, the five second rule only applies if you can't detect the spill after cleanup with a Geiger counter. Or if you don't have to fill out the paperwork if you get caught.

Also, Danny used a contraction.

Well, if you can detect the spill with a Geiger counter, but only if you knew the spill was there, you're still good.

The halflife of whatever was spilled also comes into play. By the time the five second rule is up, might no longer be radioactive.

You guys are acting like the "five second rule" makes sense in its original context as well...

A contraction? Really? Aw dang. I was looking out for it, too, knowing how out of practice I was with Danny's dialog.

Wait... no he didn't. Where's the contraction?

The first word, "aren't" ;)

Just goes to show how hard it is to proofread one's own writing.. I'm frequently embarassed reading anything I wrote more than a month prior.

Oops, I looked up the wrong strip. For some reason, I was looking at January 24th's strip, which was also radioactive safety-themed.

Let me guess:

You accidentally wrote 24th instead of 26th, and went back to fix it -- "mark the 4 and type a 6" -- but accidentally marked the 7 instead, and so ended up changing the link from 2007 to 2006.

Is there a Murphy's five second rule? 8)
perl -e 'print "Just another Perl ${\(trickster and hacker)},";'

The Sidhekin proves that Sidhe did it!

It does. There was recent research that shows that we have "5 second rule" wired into us. If we[1] drop food on the floor, we feel it's still safe provided that we pick it up within 5 seconds and we wipe away the dirt.

[1] Don't include me as I think that food is beyond saving the moment it touches the floor.

Just because something is wired into us doesn't mean it makes sense. Panicking in a fire is wired into us also.

Dirt adds flavor.

....admittedly, it might not be a good flavor, but still.... :smug:
