I pray for Mr. Bradley's safety the day Sarah finds out exactly why he doesn't go to Hildy's just for the coffee.

Oh dear... Now we can't even talk about sweet, delicious java without it being suggestive.
One would hope that Hildegard was smart enough to realize what was happening to Mr. Bradley and gently steer him away. After all, she knows what she went through, and I would hope she doesn't want Mrs. Bradley to go through the same thing...
------------------

I think I should mention that since were both at home, it's probably evening. I would think that Alison would be the one on duty now, not Hildegarde.
Hmmm...
Wapiko-chan
------------------

Hi Josh! Long time viewer, first time poster.
I just wanted to comment -- I for one was very confused at first (and at second). I notice that most of the characters look very similar. Very, very similar. Is inbreeding common in Canada? (I'm joking, I'm joking!).
Seriously, though, when Phoebe lost the glasses, I lost the only person I could readily identify. Maybe if Josh could issue some name tags....?

Ok, I've been gone for...well, a really long time now. I'm working my way back through the comic, but somebody PLEASE tell me this:
Why would Sarah care if Phil drinks coffee?
Oh wait a minute...is Phil on the make with Joe's mom? (Sorry if I jumped to a conclusion here, I'm just getting to Joe and Highlander girl having their little heart-to-heart talk.) Hmm...and how's Joe gonna feel about this? This is turning into Days of our Lives, Canadian style. Cool...
-Wienerdog Racer

Hortmage, I had that problem when I first started reading Avalon too. But eventually, I started to pick up on the differences. Hair styles help. Heck, even the character's dialogue is distinctive enough to help identify them (an impressive thing).
I was thrown again when Phoebe dropped the glasses, though. It took me a strip or two to pick up on her hairstyle.
I'm curious, Josh - why'd you drop Pheobe's glasses?
------------------

After becoming depressed, she wore glasses (a lot less hassle and energy required). Now that she's happy again, she's gone back to contacts. This was mentioned as an aside in the comic (during the most recent hockey storyline).
JOSH.

Actually, Josh, that's what I thought in the initial panel. When he said "That coffee shop" I slowly but surely clued in.
------------------

I knew who they were immediately, Josh. And the answer to your question, Wienerdog, is "We don't know yet." It's certainly been implied that Mr. B is on the brink of suggesting such a thing--they've had a slowly developing friendship ever since DD steered him into the coffeeshop instead of a bar.
I think Hilde's still there even when Allison is on shift, Wapiko-chan. *Passes the Rosemary Olive Oil Potato Chips.* So it's not likely that he's dating Allison--Hilde's definitely not the type to allow those sorts of shenannigans.
The real question is this: Would Hilde respond to a proposition by Mr. B by declining, saying she doesn't want the Bradleys to go through what she and Joe went through, or would she look at it more pragmatically--he's unhappy, she's unhappy, by all accounts Mrs. B's less than happy, perhaps a little reshuffling would be better for everyone....

Then again, given the tone of the Joe and Alan strip, he could be there getting advice on dealing with his wife from "A woman who Knows". Hildegarde Page-advice for the lovelorn? I've observed such a situation with some of my married friends...
------------------
