Yesterday, my computer was frigging up, so I decided to install a virus scanner on it. To my surprise it has the W95/CIH virus, a very, very, very bad one. So I did what any normal teenage girl who's only friend is their computer would do, I cried for 2 hours.
I can't open a thing, the only thing that works on the whole entire computer is MSN. I'm here in the computer lab of my University, a crappy place that doesn't have access to MSN, or ICQ. I think I am going to cry again. I am taking in my computer tomorrow to get fixed, so hopefully I can save all my stff on my computer. If not I will be crying for another 5 hours.
Until then I will have to read Avalon from this crappy computer lab.
Open 24/7, now how cool is that?

Hey, cheer up! Your computer can be fixed. You're not all out of touch, either . . . you started this thread, right?<P>And in the computer lab, you might meet someone more interesting than your computer . . .

"And in the computer lab, you might meet someone more interesting than your computer . . ."<P>Yeah! You might leave the window open and a little squirrel might come inside to visit you. Then you could feed it nuts and lure it into your dorm, where you could train it! And then breed it and raise even MORE squirrels, soon forming an elite army of trained squirrels. Then, a brilliant stroke of military genius, invade the sleepy little town of Pascagula and liberate it for the forces of furry kind! Vive le furry critters!<P>Or, you might meet a guy. That could happen too. I'd hold out for a squirrel though.<P>-Wienerdog Racer<P>--What's funnier than a wienerdog? What's cooler than drag racing? Now you have the best of BOTH worlds!

That CIH is nasty. I think it still lurks on my computer sometimes. I've run a dozen virus checkers/killers, but bloody hell... the thing hides better then bin Laden.<P>------------------

last time I had a bad virus like that, I found that I had to uninstall/reinstall my OS... thus, I still keep backup disks of anything I actually <I>want</I> to keep.
(virus check those too...) I'm not very good at more subtle means of 'curing' something.<P>------------------

I thought there was a program to reconstruct the data if you had a Fat32 file system...<P>Sorry for your loss.
