Blech. Yuck. A lovely late November heat wave here in North Carolina. Immediately after some light showers to boost the humidity. I need a cooler clime, I do believe....

You can get cold fronts in Texas?! Whoa.
I don't mind the cold, but then, it doesn't really get that cold in BC. (It's a balmy 4 degrees C outside right now. We still haven't gotten a good frost. Probably won't get any snow, either.) Now, somewhere like the praries or Ontario or something - that's a different story...
Btw, give threads titles like "too damn hot" is kind of annoying. Some of us were hoping for pr0n, you know... or at least something like Alison's panties.

I can't stand too much heat. I don't have air conditioning, but I have several sweaters and wool socks, so cold is easily combatted. (I would have died if last year's bus strike had been during the summer - three hours a day in 10 to -20 degree C temperatures is fine, but 25 degrees? Forget it!
It's been snowing for days here, and once again we get the proof that most of the human population does not belong in automobiles. But it's a relief anyway, because it means there's hope the drought's finally over here.
Ah, for the days the Calgary basin was part of a vast inland sea...

Oh, and I too found the heat away from the ocean in North Carolina unbearable. Not having to move there (or to L.A. later) is one of the few perks of my slowly progressing divorce.
I'm not saying I didn't like visiting the place for other reasons, but it was just far too hot for my tastes. There are some prices I just won't pay for affordable seafood.

East Anglia seems to have very bizarre weather patterns. For most of October (supposedly the warmest October since records began, in 1659 or so), it was unseasonably warm during the day, but freezing at night. It's still freezing at night (as in, I think, below 32

Well, you chose the right place to vacation, Perpetual Newbie. In Hawaii, it can go all the way down to 60

Hey, you want cooler weather, try Canada. I'm up in the North Country in NY, pretty close to the St. Laurence. Since the first snow on October 8th, there have been 3 warm waves and 4 freezes. Right now it's the coldest it's been all season, and tommorow, it'll be colder. Although, I like how the water droplets on tree branches freeze into beads. It looks cool.
My bro lives in NC. When I visited him in August there was a 100 degree heat wave going on. It wasn't that bad because it was a dry heat wave. So it sucks that the one you're talking about it humid. Yep, definately sucks to be you.

well, you probably wouldn't call them cold fronts, snow and ice is odd enough 'round here that they shut down schools when we get just a little of it
but i'm from texas, i was born here, i've lived here since then, and i vacation in Hawaii, i don't do cold
but on the up side triple digit heat is no problem
oh, and i too was momentarily deceived by the subject, i was sorely disapointed by the actual post, but it gives me a reason to vent some of my winter gumpiness, so that's cool

I actually caught a cold in Louisiana once. I'd never seen an A/C unit before, so I set it wrong . . . I also don't know the Fahrenheit scale.
Here in Denmark, we usually don't get freezing temperatures until Christmas or early January. If it gets really cold, temperatures stay just below freezing until early March. I love that when the weather stays dry.
Heat? If the temperature rises above 25C/77F, I think I'll go mad. If it is as humid as usual in the summer, I do go mad - temporarily!
[I finally bothered to look up a page on the Fahrenheit scale. I thought it would be harder. It is much more fun to convert to Kelvin first, and then to Fahrenheit!]
[This message has been edited by Klaus Petersen (edited 11-30-2001).]

Want even more fun? People too stupid to bring coats complained about the cold air from the A/C a few weeks ago, and so the school shut it off just in time for this weather. Because of that and the fact that we've a parade Sunday, we've been doing practice outside for that and the concert in band. Some of our selections? Let It Snow, and Sleigh Ride!!!! <RANT>SLEIGH RIDE! The only way a sleigh'd work here is to coat the skids with car wax and Pledge.</RANT> There. I think I feel better now. No, wait, lab test in chemistry tomorrow.

Huh, sounds like typical Vancouver weather. I'd've thought you guys in Ontario would have snow by now, and be using your block heaters and other strange and wonderful anti-cold devices.

North Carolina is my home state. I love the weather here. If you don't like the weather you only have to wait until tomorrow.
