Now see, I'd like to know how this funky Avalon time warp occurs? I mean, wow. 9pm on the East coast, yet midnight on the West. Perhaps the force of Avalon is causing the planet to spin the opposite direction? That must be it.
*polarbee is highly amused, yet hasn't had enough sleep lately, so everything she says must be taken as the rantings of a deranged lunatic*

------------------

But if the planet's spinning in the opposite direction, shouldn't time be going backwards? (And I took two years' worth of physics courses at university.... I should know better )
There must be a lot of confused art connoisseurs sitting there scratching their heads, wondering if it finishes at 9pm EST (2am GMT, or now) or midnight PST (8am GMT, or when I'm supposed to wake up to go to lectures). Mind you, I'm skint, so I never had a prayer of winning a piece of original art anyway. It mattereth not to me one way or t'other.
K.A.H.

Phantasy Star Online had a system devised by Swatch (.beat) designed to eliminate time zones. Too bad it really didn't work/get used at all.
Seriously, it was a silly idea. Basically, it divided a day into 1000 increments, and set 0 at midnight in Switzerland. Same damn thing we used already.
And this was supposed to be a feature? I think they only advertised it because they crippled PSOv1 so they could profit off v2.

Stupid Swatch beats... it'd work if the time divisions weren't so arbitrary. I'm all for a global time scale with a common zero-point, but it *still* has to be based on astronomical time units (what with there being night and day and seasons and all).
What was the "metric" time system, anyway? I seem to remember some kind of proposal made on that. The second is the metric unit of time, so it must have still been based around that.
JOSH.
