I found Avalon this Sunday... and wow, it's the best webcomic I've seen in a long, long time. Ozy & Millie and Goats have been surplanted. The problem is, I've already hit October 2001. Soon, I will only be able to read one strip a day! Arrgh.
I've got to space this out more. Slow down the experience.
I do have to suggest, though, that you quit with the guest strips. They don't do the "official" work justice.

Some are like outtakes, and those are funny. They're creative, man. *coughspinachpuffscough*
Some are drawn. Those are fun fun fun. ^_^ The latest one is super funny. Damonk's set are super-cute.
Some are combinations. Jen Aside's are...umm.... *waves around wildly* They're pure genius.
Sheesh, I would think that the guest strips only serve to supplement and accentuate the normal storyline.
I was a bit insulted at your comment about the guest strips. If you don't want to read them, fine. I think that they're a funny way to connect the artist to the fans. Although the style of artwork may not be the same, I think it's still worthy.
KN

*POKE*
Welcome Foust!
Yes, I'm afraid all of us have been at that point where we ran out of archived strips and have to wait for the update; it is hard at first, but you'll adjust.

Alright, Mr. Rabbit Army Commander. I stand corrected on my vague, general statement. I do like the out takes, a lot. A lot of the fan art posted here is really good, too. As for much of the rest... it's just that I get used to a certain art & writing style, and I'm annoyed when that's disrupted.
Tonight, I finish off the last of the archives. *sigh*
------------------

Heh!
It's Ms. Rabbit Army Commander, actually (yes, we've been over it with her )
She let you off easy... She's been known, in #avalon, to wield a mailing tube to great effect

I'll admit that my first opinion of the guest strips was similar to yours. My first time through the archives, I skipped them. My second time through, I read some. Most were really funny. (Especially the Heero Yui one and the pool one. )
Since then I've watched the GAS closely. As usual, some suck. But most are really good, and a rather effective way of (as Carn said) doing outtakes of the current storyline, or a recent storyline.
And if you dare criticize the fanart (especially Mzacher and NegZero's stuff)...
*ahem* Right, I'm better now.

Well the guest Artist Sundays are an homage to the original. You can hardly expect the derivation to supplant the original. Though I still laugh at Tall Screamin' Hottie.

haw haw, i finished the archives in five, count 'em, five hours. then i was stuck. deal with the addiction. and just so you know, it NEVER updates at midnight. normally anywhere from 2-4am. you know what tends to help, though? finding another comic with a more gimungous archive and reading that. the list of comics i read has expanded from three back in last november to 23 every day and about 40 random ones in total. and the only one from the original list of three that i still read is Avalon. GO AVALON! it's addictive properties will never end, even after it's no longer being drawn.

Omnicookies are omnilicious, not omnipotent. ^_^ They came about because on #avalon, I would give out cookies, but people kept asking what kind of cookies they were. ^^;; I didn't know, so I said..."Whatever you like." And someone dubbed them omnicookies!
I'm not sure if they're addictive. If they are, they must be as addictive as Avalon, or as #avalon, at least. >_< #avalon 0wnz m4h s0u1.
Hee. If by quality of work and humor (or humour, if you prefer ) then Bruno The Bandit is my recommendation.
I read the entire archive in 2 days after I first found it. Very excellent work by Ian McDonald.
If you mean "league" as in story type or ensemble group, then the previously mentioned "It's Walky!" and "College Roomies From Hell!!!" are excellent. (also high quality and funny, of course)
Real Life by Greg Dean is a favorite of mine as well.
Cholma

Life of Riley-- http://www.clanbob.net/comics/lor/
FANS!-- http://faans.com/
Well, that's a good start for your archice reading. Have at it!
