It's kinda weird to watch this unfold though, I mean, this is more or less my life. Well this mixed with a healthy dosage of the non-superpowered episodes of the Tenchi Muyo OVA, and maybe a little random stuff thrown in for good measure... but other than that! I've done this exact speech not once but thrice, Joe's done damn well for himself in my humble opinion.
Seriously, for you single men out there, the other extreme of having too many insane women trying to pull you in too many directions isn't much fun at all. Especially when you genuinely care about the people involved. My best advice for finding love is to stop trying to find it. I guarentee it will fall in your lap (hey! I heard that... you dirty mind!) when you least want or expect it.
Heh, literally, be happy with being a batchelor, it's the quickest way to find yourself in a relationship.
-Judeccan

"Now, a few words on looking for things. When you go looking for something specific, your chances of finding it are very bad. Because of all the things in the world, you're only looking for one of them. When you go looking for anything at all, your chances of finding it are very good. Because of all the things in the world, you're sure to find some of them." [Zero Effect]
Which isn't to suggest that you should just grab whatever's available, but that if you step back and keep an open mind, something will appear (the inattentive don't notice till it falls in their lap ). People searching desperately for a relationship tend to miss out on the fact that sometimes these things develop over time and require effort before they get off the ground. They look so hard for something in specific that they can miss what's in front of them.
-myriad-
------------------

Fall in your lap? Bullshit.
The only times I've had relationships with women have been when I asked the lady out. Waiting lead nowhere but to being alone. Not that asking them out worked much better....
------------------

You don't have to give up looking while you wait. Just don't try so hard.
The whole point is that you can't MAKE a relationship appear. You'll end up more miserable in one that's forced than without one altogether.
If you can't find peace in yourself, you won't find any more in a relationship than you have now. The sole responsibility for your happiness lies on you, not another person.
Ceilidh's path is the wrong one. Don't push, but don't be afraid to grab ahold when the time comes.
------------------

How come when I look for something it's always in the last place I look?

From my experience, it's definitely not true that women will "fall in your lap" if you stop looking. However, it's a good idea to stop looking anyway simply because you'll be happier that way. If being single bothersw you, you haven't really stopped looking.

Yes the story line hits home with alot of us. Myself included, it's spose to be a real life like comic, and I think Josh has done a really good job in doing so. For one thing I can say for sure, is you get to care about these characters, no comic has ever made me feel so strong of emotion towards the characters, to see them progress and to smile at their joys. We all can relate a little into the lives of each character, which is the point, to make a connection to the reader, to make them say.. I know how that feels, I hope everything turns out for the best for them. Anyways.. this is the best story I've seen in a comic and I read alot of them. Thanks Josh for the great comic. I can't wait to see more.
Thanks
------------------
