Oh yes.
I'm bored, and I was just reading through all the hockey news I'd been missing in the last week (I didn't even KNOW the draft was last weekend), and I felt the need to talk to a bunch of complete strangers about it.. And nobody's stranger than you folks here.
First off, you know you're pretty much adult-age when a third-grade classmate of yours gets drafted into the NHL.. (Jay McClement, 57th overall, St. Louis) I just thought I'd share that.. It's weird how something like that can make me realize that I'm really not a kid anymore... Probably due to my total lack of any responsibilities. *sigh*
Secondly, Josh and other Sens fans, what do you think about the Yashin-for-Spezza trade?
My friend Chris (a huge Sens fan) was absolutely ecstatic about it, he HATED Yashin for his holdout and his ineffectiveness in this year's playoffs.
Third, Leafs fans, your take on the Berezin-Renberg trade. I personally don't think it was that great of a deal, but then again, we've seen Berezin play this year for Toronto. Renberg's been off in Europe.
And fourth, Ray Bourque. He retired. I'm not surprised. It was the best time for it.
Anyways, my apologies for this bit of off-topicness, but hey, the hockey threads are about 80% of what I post to on here!

Ottawa made a great move to grab Spezza. Though Yashin was a good player, he certainly didn't want to be with Ottawa. Now that he's with the Islanders, he better realize he was with a better team before the trade . Though the Islanders certainly are making some good moves by grabbing Pecca. I wish the Leafs grabbed him but you knew Buffalo wouldn't want the Leafs to have him, with them being in the same division and both very close in ranking. That's why Lindros STILL isn't with the Leafs. Clarke doesn't want the Leafs to have him.
As for the Berezin-Reneburg trade. I think it's a winning trade for both teams. I hate to see Berezin leave, but they needed a player to complement Sundin. Roberts was a great move, and now with Renburg, maybe I'll FINALLY start to see Sundin play for the money he's going to be getting. (yes I'm a Sundin speculator.) If it works as well as Sundin and Renburg have played in the past, the Leafs may finally have a true first line. Now if they can only go and get Blake. Hmmmm....
Last for Bourque retiring, I'm mixed on this. I'm glad he won the cup, but i'm mad he didn't do it with the Bruins. But I think he deserves to retire. He's had a great career and from all the BIG name players in recent years, he's been the most well mannered one. Very patient, and very likeable. But what I'm extrememly mad at is how the Avs retired his number before the Bruins! What's up with that? He spends 20 years with a team, and then his new team does it first? I thought that was very rude of them.
Anywho, long enough of a post.
