Stateside (especially in the South) Krispy Kreme is all the rave... I don't know much about Tim Horton's though... although the Beastie Boys never gave a shout-out to Tim Horton's that I know of<P>"Fresh like a box of Krispy Kreme / Jealous of the rhyme and the rhyme routine / Intergalactic, planetary"<P>(Oh, hello, by the way... my first post and all... hehe)<P>Alex<P>

It's interesting... this is probably the kind of advertising that companies just love. But with my luck, it'll result in a big ugly lawsuit. :-/<P>JOSH.

Of course, it could be that Krispy Kremes are light and fluffy, and not drowned in grease and goopy sugar on the East Coast. Here on the West Coast, they're garbage, and the only reason so many people here line up outside the places is because Easterners insist that they're the best donuts on Earth so unanimously that people assume it must be true, and don't want to seem unhip.<P>Personally, the only use I've found for the greasy, undercooked loops of dough is as a projectile for splattering the unwary. They make a nice big gooey mess when they hit.<P>------------------

I believe it is south, near Park Meadows or something. I have yet to check it out too, because it seems like too much effort for a flipping donut.
Funny side note: people are so worked up about getting a KK here that there have been reports of donut scalping.

Krispy Kreme makes some leeging lousy doughnuts. They're nothing but chewy fluffed air. If it weren't for the glaze, they'd have no flavor at all. They can't even touch Dunkin' Donuts, say nothing about <I>real</I> doughnuts. One of the nice bits about being back in Vermont is that I can go down to the grocery store and get Friehofer's or Koffee Kup doughnuts, both of which make Krispy Kremes look like the tasteless paste they are. And even those can't get near my grandmother's homemade doughnuts, fresh out of the fryer...

I have NO idea what you Krispy Kreme naysayers are talking about: KK makes the best damn dougnuts this side of the Mississipi! Those fresh... glazed... doughnuts... unggggggghhhh....

BLASPHEMERS!!! Here in the south there is something magical about driving past a Krispy Kreme shop late at night and seeing that "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign radiating it's neon brilliance. Krispy Kreme not only rolls off the tongue, it will literally melt in one's mouth. I will never grow tired of watching the doughnut making machine work tirelessly to supply that which is the pure, warm, and fluffy experience of joy called Krispy Kreme. That being said, I have not partaken of KK out on the west coast yet and hope that magical charm hasn't been transformed into the soul-sucking abyss that is reminscient of the Starbucks chain.

The best donuts in the world are located at Dimo's coffee shop on West Stadium in Ann Arbor.

I've never had Tim Horton's donuts, but Krspy Kreme are gross, greasey, undercooked with to much sugar. I miss Dunkin Donuts now that I'm in the SOUTH. I still think they're the best, especailly at 1am when the the donuts just come out of the fryer.<P>

Their legal department is too busy gearing up to nail Darby Conley, whose "Get Fuzzy" of May 4 clearly depicts a Tim Horton's coffee mug without proper licensing. I suppose it might be an act of foolishness to bring up Shipley's?
I apologize, I've lived in Texas for all my life, and I've never SEEN a Krispy Kreme or a Tim Horton's, so my donut experience is limited. All there is is Dunkin Donuts and Shipley's. I grew up on Shipley's, and they sell Devil's Food (you can never, ever have too much chocolate), so they're my favorite.

You are all donut heathens. There is only ONE place to get donuts. You go to Boston, MA, and you go to Logan International Airport. When you get there, go to the American Airlines domestic terminal. There you shall find a Dunkin Donuts, and your donut search shall be over. They have, by far, the MOST FRESH and TASTY donuts I have ever had.....so soft and creamy that they melt in your mouth. If there's one thing I'll miss about Boston when I leave here, it'll be going to the airport for holidays and having donuts from there.<P>
