Tim Hortons tends to have a tan/brown theme, with red highlights (pretty much what you used). Almost counter to that is the uniform, which features a white shirt (brown pinstripes, I think), and burgundy hat & tie/ascot.
JOSH.

Okay, the first coloured strip of this week is up. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep this up over the next month or so - I *really* need to get more revision done...
---

That's too bad... they're VERY good coloring jobs, consistent with every time we've seen the "officially" colored strips. If you ask me, Josh should break down and acknowledge you as the Official Fan Colorist.
Hey, and it's not technically lynching!

Eeeexcellent job with the colourations. Ryan looks a lot like Mr. Bradley in that first panel there...
A shame you won't be able to do the strips this month. You'll just have to do them next month to make up for it.
------------------

Hmm, you do rule, davey, but I think perhaps that the choice of a brown background for this week's first strip makes the slightly-different skin tones for Ryan and Deeds kinda... clash with each other somehow. Maybe a bluish or some other contrasting color background, while not consistent with the interior of a Tim Horton's necessarily, would soothe the color difference...
Percent "standing firmly in the non-shag camp" Man
[This message has been edited by PercentMan (edited 05-02-2001).]

I don't think it's the background so much as the fact that Ryan blends into the walls like a chameleon. It almost looks like one of those old, old black & white photos except that Dee is in color.
And Ryan's fashion sense makes coloring hard. Everyone knows that you wear a white dress shirt and black slacks and coat at night, not brown! Get with the program Ryan!
[This message has been edited by Kaoru (edited 05-03-2001).]

Well, the hat should be the same colour as the ascot. :-)
JOSH.

Lets put it this way: you got it acceptably close to a Tim Horton's, and unless Josh starts using photorealistic backgrounds, I don't think you're going to get it any closer.
------------------

Okay, I've tweaked the colours slightly - they seem a bit bright now, but at least the hat matches the ascot...
---

Excellent colouring job on today's! You even managed to get the outside of a Tim Horton's to a reasonable degree of accuracy.
------------------
