Megumi Hayashibara has to be the most common anime seiyuu ever. Practically every popular anime over the last few years that I've heard about has her voicing at least one part.
With the usual exception of Excel Saga.
------------------

Tomo/Tomoe: In Japanese class I learned a systematic way to convert from Japanese sounds to Roman letters. Tomo and Tomoe should be two different names: Toh-moh for the first, Toh-moh-eh for the second. Japanese doesn't have a silent 'e', not even when written in Roman letters. I have no idea which one is the more common name, but both look at least plausible to me.
And Megumi-chan isn't "common". She's popular. Big difference! ;-)

That's Hayashibara Megumi! In the right order!
And, besides, she's talented, so it works out okay. If her talents are playing mysterious women or hyperactive ones, then she's pretty much able to do any role in anime that doesn't involve tentacles.

Nowhere near as addictive as 'Loop People' - Shinohara Tomoe. I probably got his first name wrong, tho.
Oh, and if you need to wake up but are out of coffee or other caffeinated beverages? 'Ultra Relax' @ 150% speed using the DSP Tempo plugin for Winamp.

First: Tomoe-chan is FEMALE!
Second: Few things are as hyper as "Do It Minnie May".
Third: Scariest thing I've ever seen in a signature: "Saber Marionette James".
------------------

I didn't know the gender, so I assumed 'he.' or would you prefer that I used the non-gender 'it'? or 's/he'? S/he / it's really annoying, using non-gender-specific words...

It seems to me that I've seen quite a few manga characters named Tomoe, and they've all been female. But I really don't know enough abou Japanse names to be comfortable making even that assumption. We really do need a better pronoun for situations like this. Perhaps it's time to learn Finnish...

I had Japanese penpal who was (and presumably still is) a female a few years back named Tomoe. Although she spelled it Tomo, no e. Can't remember exactly, but I think she said it meant something about being wise.

The only Tomoe / Tomo I know of is Tomo from Fushigi Yuugi, and I've tried very hard to push all memories of that piece of crap out of my mind, so you'll forgive me for not being able to really provide a whole lot of insight here.
And you're still all wrong. Nothing trumps "Successful Mission". Come on, we're talking Hayashibara Megumi here.
