Okay, I want to start an Anime poetry thread. Post your original poems here!
*ahem*
There once was a girl named Lum
Who drank back twenty-six shots of rum
They kept on getting tossed
She got thoroughly sauced
Until she could no longer...
Umm, nevermind. Forget I said anything.
Anyway, I think you get the idea. And to apologize for that example, here's another Urusei Yatsura themed poem, in free verse.
-----
Flying
Flying high is she
She in the tiger-striped bikini
Fly
Into the sky
And if I
Were to place
Each
Word
On
Its
Own
Line
I
Could
Then
Call
It
Art
And you would worship me
As I worship her
She in the tiger-striped bikini
-----
Actually, I think my first one was better. Anyway, you give it a try now.
Talk to you soon!
-Consul, who is a little too addicted to cute green-haired horny (erm, horned) girls in scanty clothes.
(Edited to fix a typo and add a joke)

I'd attempt one for Excel saga, but I suck at poetry and its impossible to get across the sheer hyperactivity through a forum. Gomen.
Those other ones are good, though. Especially the Trigun one!
------------------

I'd do something about Tendo no Escaflowne, but the only thing I can think of involves Alan's sister and something that rhymes with "Venus"...

Well, Nice limericks guys!
How about some more seious poetry:
Vision of Escaflowne poem (and no words that rhyme with 'Venus' =p )
-----------
Hitomi stands amidst a war
Casts her cards upon the floor
And longs to love a man
But which man she can't decide
So her feelings she will hide
Assuming that she can
For Van her rash heart sings aloud
Those glorious wings, strong and proud
Stir thoughts within her mind
Of Alan Schezar, never does she tire
He plays her heartstrings like a lyre
And is courteous and kind
But Alan can't make up his mind
Van, by kingly duty he is blind
And Amano isn't here
So now she sits up in her room
Thinks about approaching doom
And softly sheds a tear

Dude, that's a great one. I remember when I saw the series for the first time. The show shall remain a classic.

Thank you. I actually haven't seen the whole series yet; I'm impatiently counting the 23 days until the last 2 DVDs are released. *grins*

I actually first saw the series last summer after purchasing the entire subtitled VHS box set. The series is a real heart wrencher. Coincidentally, I received the series the same week that the Fox network began airing Escaflowne in the kids slot. By the way, do not watch the edited version. It's sacriledge.
