Huge update on my EGS site (Uryuomoco translator, stats)

Postby Unforgiven on Tue Jun 06, 2006 4:35 am

Shameless plug time! :D

As some (hopefully most :P ) of you know, I have an EGS fansite, which hosts the English/Uryuomoco Translator and the Character Statistics.

I've just made available a bucketload of updates. To start with the most obvious one: the look. I've updated the EGS section to use the same design as the main section of the site (well, except for the banner, obviously).

The English/Uryuomoco Translator has been upped to version 2.0, which is most obvious in the downloadable version. It has some new features (such as spell checking), some bug fixes (including RandomBunny's much sought after capitalization fix), performance and reliability improvements and a lot of other little things. The web version of course also uses the new translation engine, so it gets the performance and bug fixes, but no spell checking (not yet anyway, I might do this at some point, don't expect it soon though).

The statistics page has also been upgraded. Most importantly, it is finally (finally!) complete (all the characters now have a description and an image), and you can now see the character of the day on the statistics page (previously, the only place you could see it was in my sig) and a page with the history of previous characters of the day has been added.

Furthermore, the comic list now lists the additional text Dan has been hiding in the file name of the more recent comics.

Go check it out, or else the EGS cast wil be very, very sad indeed!

Any questions? :P

Wow... well done. :D

One little nitpick - why is the Demonic Duck listed as appearing in 'Elliot form'? The Elliot that tickled Justin was an illusion - the Duck says so.

For perfectly selfish reasons  , I'd like to point out that we know a bit more about the "weird animal guy" than what is listed...

I used to have a Palm m100, nice little device for the money it cost (virtually nothing). I've got a Dell Axim X51v now, slightly a lot more expensive but a very feature-rich machine (it has a VGA screen, Bluetooth, WiFi, IrDA, 256MB flash memory, 64MB RAM, SD & CF slots, the works).

I'll update it later. Do you mind if I use your avatar for his image instead of what's there now?

That's what I said in the thread for today's comic. I'll definitely do that.

None can stand alone against a quartet of puppy dog eyes!

I'm sorry, it just had to be said!
The book is almost always better than the movie. You could have no better case in point than FROM HELL, Alan Moore's best graphic novel to date, brilliantly illustrated by Eddie Campbell. It's hard to describe just how much better the book is. It's like, "If the movie was an episode of Battlestar Galactica with a guest appearance by the Smurfs and everyone spoke Dutch, the graphic novel is Citizen Kane with added sex scenes and music by your favourite ten bands and everyone in the world you ever hated dies at the end." That's how much better it is. - Warren Ellis.

Nobody ever told Picard that "Ye cannae change the laws of Physics!". They just DID it. - Vampiress Kat.

Sounds like something that would make me very envious if I weren't a tried and true Linux nut. Of course, I travel too little to justify a Sharp Zaurus on my personal budget sheet.

IIRC I believe Nanase isn't actually Japanese, but half Japanese... Not that I've ever seen her as either :-? (In her character Bio)
