Hopefully never. Alison's spectator position makes her my favorite character right now.
Besides Alison's taste has to better than to pick any of the available guys right now, so someone new would have to be introduced for her to fall in love.
Go Alison!
-Kaoru

NO!
Overall I think that Iain's good character, but he's too emotionally immature to be paired with Alison.
Unless you can give a good example of why they'd work I'm against it.
-Kaoru

Alison needs someone mature and reserved. What would Iain and Alison ever do together? They don't seem to like the same things at all. And there's no sign that they even like each other's company at all.
Sertrel
------------------

I've said it before... Alison and Ceilidh are going to end up together.
Seriously, though, Alison is the single best-equipped person in the strip to deal with being single. She's sensible, stable, and complete in herself... the exact inverse of, say, Helène, who is pretty much defined by her relationship with Alan. She once described Ceilidh and Helène as being "the exact opposite of identical twins", but I think that description would better fit herself and Helène.
That's not to say it wouldn't be nice to see her find someone... but if she doesn't, it won't bother her, so I don't see why it should bother me. And none of the guys currently in the strip would be a good match for her, anyway. (No, Mizu, you freak, Alison + Alan does not work!) Though I could honestly see Alison and Ceilidh working out...

No! I stand firmly by my opinion that Alison doesn't need a relationship and that none of the male characters in Avalon compliment her personality at all. While I do like the messed up relationship that every main character seems to be taking part in, what makes Alison so great is that she's outside all that crap. Even when it's going good, being in a relationship with someone still messes with your head and Alison's clear headedness is something I admire.
YEAH! GO ALISON!
-Kaoru

I do like Alison for her clear-headedness though. In this crazy, mixed up strip you can count on her not to leave necklaces lying around or hide behind potted palms. The only thing I don't want for Alison is an insane backstory. I'd like to think she has been and always will be the mostly sane one.

I agree with Kaoru: Alison really doesn't need a relationship. She's handling things quite well as it is. If she did get involved in a relationship, I think she'd handle it very well, because she's the most sensible character in the strip. Alison I don't worry about.
The guys on the other hand... it's pretty clear none of THEM could handle a relationship. (Scratch that, Ryan could, but Deidre is the perfect match for him.) So right now, poor Alison is just going to have to make do, playing counselor and throwing her new year's parties.
Though we haven't really met Larry yet... and there's always Ahmed... Now wouldn't that be scary?
------------------
