hehehe...
I`m typing this from my family household, where they only have a P90 with a 14.4 modem, so you can imagine the time and trouble even posting here just once -- and it`s a FRENCH keyboard, so i don`t even know half the keys, go figure!
But I couldn`t resist typing a few words to you, Josh...
The third period`s JUST starting, and it`s 2-0 for your favorite team, buddy!
God, I wish i could be sitting at the James Street Feed Company or some other Ottawa watering hole, watching the game, listening to you curse the whole time...
Wouldn`t that be a blast, Josh?
Anywho, I`ll see if I can`t come pester you some more once the win is official, cool?
GO LEAFS!
------------------

The Sens put up a nice effort, but the outstanding play by Cory Cross makes it 3-2 in overtime.
Okay, who am I kidding, where the HELL did Cory Cross come from!? All he's usually good for was falling down. I mean really, CORY CROSS!? What the hell was that? I don't think anyone expected him to score.
I won't complain, Leafs up in the series 3-0.
GO LEAFS GO!
PS - Damonk: That is why I never gloat before the game ends. You NEVER know when something is going to happen to make you eat crow.

And another thing, is that 233:41 shutout streak by CuJo a record of some kind?
And if not, does anyone know who holds that record?

You know what would be good? If the Sens manage to win the next two games, but lose the third.
Only because that's what I put in the Hockey Pool...

I think Cujo may have beaten it. They mentioned it earlier on HNiC.
If anything, the Leafs learnt from that game, and probably won't make the same mistake of putting the breaks on again. Corson didn't appear to be playing in the OT period though, so that'll give Yashin some good chances next game if Corson's out.
Saw little of Roy that game too, maybe the Sens realized he's not helping a whole lot
You picked Toronto in six too Spoon? Heh, I'm just wanting Toronto to win ASAP, and get some rest.
------------------

I don't know what the hell the Sens are doing, other than ruining my chances at the Hockey Pool.
Ah well, at least I didn't pick them to win the Cup. The only good thing about being a Habs fan this year is that when your team's out of the playoffs, you don't have to promote their unrealistic chances at Lord Stanley's prize.
Of course, I'll be the first guy in line with ticker tape if the Sens do pull off the finest performance since David slew Goliath.
Long as they're Canadian, it's all good.
Charlahack

I have been stuck without good internet access.. Argh.
re: Certain shutout records -

quote:
Joseph, who has a shutout string of 166:50 going, has a long way to go before he challenges Normie Smith's NHL playoff record of 248:32 without allowing a goal, a mark he set with the 1936 Detroit Red Wings.

That article came before tonight's game, but you'll notice the second set of numbers being higher than Cujo's 233:41.
How many of you swore at Harry and Bob for nixing Cujo's chances by talking shutout? I know I did.
re: Cory Cross.
Now, I used to believe Cross was a bum. Hell, he was. This year, however, he has shown himself to be a great defenceman. He uses his size to his advantage, and plays well enough positionally so that his lack of speed doesn't leave him dead in the watter. It helps that he plays now with Aki Berg, a quicker defenceman. Too bad for the Leafs he was out for a lot of the year with is hip injury.
re: The series in general.
Woo!
End of story.
..

hehehe...
i WANTED to be cocky for a change, and it didn`t affect the outcome, so i`m a happy acadian...
besides, even though i was a little bummed out by the shutout streak ending, it was nice to finally see the sens wake up in the second half of the third period, just to make the game a little more interesting...
still, i think that even josh will admit that the sens are playing some mighty sloppy hockey, and the leafs, for some strange reason, are beating the sens at their own game -- shutting them down on center ice, picking up all the renbounds ion their zone, playing some tight defence, and having the forwards pitch in on defense, too!
all in all, i`m really looking forward to game four -- now that the sens have regained a bit of confidence (tho it got shattered by the loss, nonetheless), game four should prove to be quite the explosive match, indeed!
oh, and josh?
JOIN US.
(sorry for the smaller size, but i stil can`t figure out this damn french keyboard out, dagnabbit!)
see ya all on wednesday when i return to my own comp!
------------------
