The Faultie Circuit also received a full overhaul in CSS and PHP during this update. Please take a look around and let me know what you think.
Edit: Title changed due to sticky status.

jtdarlington wrote:Unit, shall I replace any links on the Link-O-Rama to point people there, or would you like for it to get fleshed out a little more first?
jtdarlington wrote:(b) for each quoted or seeded page, a simple statement like "From the official cast page:" precedes it with perhaps a link back to the individual entry, so it's easy to tell what's official and what's unofficial. (By individual entry, I mean the individual page for a given main cast member, and for secondary characters the internal anchor on the "seconds" page for that character, like here for Akhilesh.)
jtdarlington wrote:The proposal sounds good, and the seeded articles look like a good start. It could probably use a little mark-up, like creating the "official" segement as one section heading, then the fan-added segment as another. The link to the beginning of the story with the character's first appearance should be included as well. See my tweaks to Chuck's page for an example. (I'll try and post more suggestions later, but I have an appointment to leave for now.)
The non-existing link block is a little unwieldly, but it does make it easier for those not intimately familiar with Wiki markup to get started. Of course, it's not that hard to create a new article; just change the URL of an existing article (like http://fc.unitzoid.com/wiki/index.php/Chuck) to what you want the new article to be (say, http://fc.unitzoid.com/wiki/index.php/Sydney) and load that in your browser. You'll instantly be put into editing mode. I've used that trick extensively with the top secret Keenspot internal Wiki.

jtdarlington wrote:In the Chuck tweaking, you'll notice that I included the links you'll find in Chuck's official cast listing, including links to key strips or sequences that explain what's going on.
jtdarlington wrote:Here's something that should be brought up: Unit, how would you like to handle images? I see three possible options: (1) if you so allow, images could be uploaded to the site (and I'd probably allow this for most instances, depending on what's getting added), (2) the images could be inlined from the GPF site (which would cost me some bandwidth but would save space and bandwidth for you), or (3) disable/dissallow images altogether. I probably wouldn't mind the use of the cast pages images for instances like this; full comics probably wouldn't be a good idea.

It's on the front page of the wiki, item number 2.

We're having a bit of a problem with the database server, nala, that you are hosting databases on. We currently have an administrator at the datacenter now, trying to resuscitate her. Hopefully, we can get her backup and running shortly. We'll let you you know things are back to normal. Sorry about that!
