..:Random Rants:.. Any1 else sick of these Ford commercials?

Postby comfortablynumb on Thu Dec 29, 2005 7:54 pm

I am not sure if this is a national campaign or just a south fl thing; but every couple of minutes they play this Ford commerical that states "You got to ride it like a Ford" and they made some ridiculos song "You gotta ride it" Now if that is not bad enough Comcast cable has decided that commercial was not annoying enough and decided to broadcast it on various channels in Spanish mind you these are english stations (USA, A&E etc...)

I am half tempted to get a couple freinds together go to ford and "Ride it Like a Ford" I wonder if those cars are insured LOL!!!

The whole thing just doesn't make any sense to me, and I am not sure how that is selling automobiles. Anyone else in marketing care to touch on that?

Haven't seen that one. Ride it like a Ford, eh?
Hmm, does that mean riding with your fingers crossed on the way to the mechanic?

As for how it's selling commercials, the only thing an ad needs to do is get your attention--which it obviously has. Now you are talking about it and spreading their word. They won. :)

I'd love to go into this more but I'm off to go buy a Ford.

Personally I despise the King of Burger King far worse.

But then, my multiple rants at Tangents are no doubt proof of that. ;)

I mean, what's worse, riding it like a Ford? Or waking up with a fake plastic man lying next to you with a creepy grin on his face offering you greasy overcooked semi-plastic food?
