Mind if I say a thing or two?

The three exclamation points at the end of the title stands for "quality."

Seem to recall that the Goddess decreed that a person who makes a introduction post may only be poked once per each poster responding to the thread.

And if they sneak into another thread and say that they're new, they're only poked once in total.

So you may want to un-mop-poke him, lest ye get sacrificed to appease the Goddess' bloostlust.

There's no way the board could have changed that much since I was last here.
I think he means our general, talking personas, compared to some of the aliases.

Unless I'm in the equation, in which case hell yes we're as weird as we appear (and then some).

You will please notice that I said most of us . . . Sometimes that's followed with an observation about how strange the others are, but I left that implied this time. /unleashes pizza-snarfing wombat of DOOM on the unobservant/

And yes, Fletcher is definitely one of the exceptions.

Tech Angel is unclassified.

And don't read any FF or PFF with a title involving "nipples".

I was about to ask whether the newbie advisory was to avoid it, or whether it was to read it while the rest of us stood around and snerked at their expense...

Oh, and since I'm here... Welcome to the Board!

People who are fed up with unreadably small font may wish to look here. For those who POST such text, however, this is not an excuse. Surely 6-pt gets the point across without requiring shenanigans to read?

The Doctor notices that an amber light has just illuminated, indicating that a n00b has just started a thread, not just any thread but an introductary thread. Nifty, he thinks to himself as he starts his trans-dimentional Poke-inator. Steady now, old boy, he muses as he visually targets and fires.

<POKE>

"That was fun," the Doctor says as Poke-inator's cooling fans switch on...

You quit too easily. Just poke with all 100 hands in one motion. Technically, it would be one poke, just with 100 hands. Get it? Here, have a haba

Magnifying browser, huh?

Which browser(s) is that, and how is it done?

Opera. There's a dropdown that'll change the magnification on a page in case you have eyesight problems (or a smartass writing small things in a sig), anywhere from 20-1000%.

That made it quite legible.

Firefox has a View->Text Size menu, as well as shortcuts ctrl++, ctrl+-, and ctrl+0.

But in the preferences dialog, there is another cool feature: Minimum font size. I've set it at 10, and so all text is somewhat legible from the outset. It means I can't tell small fonts from tiny, but I consider that a small loss. Or even tiny. 8)
perl -e 'print "Just another Perl ${\(trickster and hacker)},";'

Huzzah!

Also, I am leery of any newcomer that self-advertises in their first post. In most cases, they never stick around for long.

It's supposed to be a modification of E. Honda's hundred-hand-slap from Street Fighter 2. I guess I'm enough of a games nerd I never thought people wouldn't immediately get that.

We got it. Heck, it could even be a reference to Chun Li's Kikkoken attack by multiple kicks. Just more fun to be serious about it. :P
