Nukees IRC channel

I've set up a Nukees IRC channel on NightStar... irc.nightstar.net , channel #nukees. Do, drop in. I'm lonely. Not really, I'm in about 8 other channels...

Well, that's flattering... But is it necessary? I mean, will anyone ever use it? Seems like there are so many individual webcomics chat rooms, that the forces are spread thin to the point of non-existance. I imagine everyone must just hang out the #crfh room every day. It would be depressing to drop by the #nukees chat room to always find no one there...

*shrugs* It always takes time for IRC channels to grow. Then again, considering most people that read Nukees also reads CRFH (as far as I can tell), they probably go to that channel instead.

Sheesh. What kind of Nukee fans are we!?

Problem: We want a place to hang out. But the IRC channel is empty, and it doesn't look like it will change anytime soon.

Solution: Sit around and hope things get better?

Nay! I say to thee nay!

If we were in a town would we put up en empty tent in the middle of a field somewhere? Hell no! We'd go to an existing place that already has activities going so we don't have to depend on other Nukee's showing up.

Possible solutions:

1. Go to an already populated IRC channel.
2. Set up a "Keen" IRC channel. You can draw from a much bigger audience then, and maybe Gav can set up a specific IRC server for it. With links on each of the webcomics pages.
3. Give up and try something else that isn't IRC.

Not really. The Keen comics fans who IRC have generally already set up channels for their favorite comics (#crfh, #avalon, #elflife) and hang out there, and would be unlikely to move to a more general channel.

That would almost guarantee that no one would use it. It's much better to use an existing network.
