Okay, here are some of the regs.
Mech must be between 25' and 100' tall.
If ya like 'em short or tall, ya got a little leeway there.
10 weapons total. Pairs count as 1 weapon in this case only if they can both be used at the same time. Not like duels full length mech gattling guns.
Body parts that are sharp or pointy or used as weapons count as weapons. (example: Fists don't count, wolverine style claws do)
If you want a hidden weapon e-mail me about it.
spamman@couch.zzn.com
Everyone may have 1 mystery weapon.
No self distruct buttons!
No total annihilation weapons (i.e. nukes)
No energy shields (Unless it's the equivalent of a bracer)
All weapons are at MY discretion and may be debated via e-mail, NOT on the forum.
If I say no to something, ask me why using my e-mail address.
List weapons as so:
1.Dual Potato Guns (main weapon here)
2.Mystery weapon
3.Really big beer bottle
4.rolled up news paper
5.pointed stick
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
You don't NEED 10 weapons, however, feel free to put 10.
I'll add more shit as I think of it.
Evangundam,

Can I just have an EVA instead? I mean, they don't have any long-range weapons, so they can't be all that powerful. Right...?

Do you know how much effort I must give NOT to make this mecha Wheel of Time reference central?
Right, before I get to work is a mecha inspired by an online comic and crewed by an online comic crew acceptable?

Prototype Cobat Mechanoid

Codename: Redemption

Alright, here we go. My mech is approximately 30' tall (nice and low slung) It is an animal style mech, built to resemble an enourmous mechanical tiger. The mech possesses an advanced AI system, giving it a limited capacity to act without direction, thus enabling the mech to easier dodge attacks and utilise it's innate agility and speed. The AI is not capable of innovation or creativity, and thus requires a human(or half human anyway) pilot to fight truly well. This mech is an amazingly quick and agile mech, it's tail serves as rudder and stabilizer during it's leaps and jumps. It's power supply is experimental, equipped with a booster of sorts, which works like adrenalin in a human being. In extreme situations, the boost works more like nitrous in a car, giving amazing speed, which is useful for chases and escapes. A full sensor array is included, including infrared, ultraviolet, light enhancement, acoustic, and radar tracking methods. As far as weaponry goes...
1. All four feet are equipped with large blade-like claws, which may be charged charged with energy for devastating effect.
2.A pair of retractable blades is housed on the mech's back, popping out to either side, each blade roughly twice the width of the actual body. These blades may also be charged with energy for a more powerful strike.
3.A pair of chain guns is mounted, one in each shoulder. These guns are fire linked, unable to fire independantly. They fire armor piercing shells, designed specifically for use against enemy mechs.
4.The mech's mouth is lined with metal alloy teeth, capable of punching through nearly any substance short of adamantium or gundanium when the mech clamps down.
5. The Mystery Weapon(muwahahahahaha)
Well if ya need anything else, just let me know. I'll e-mail ya the super secret mystery guest weapon as soon as I decide exactly what I want it to be.
P.S. oh yeah, if ya wanna really good idea of what this looks like, look for the Red Blade Liger mecha from the show Zoids.
------------------

Here are all the answers.
Rand Al'Tor: As long as I know what the comic is. I like web comics.
kyhm: Yes, you can use any mecha, it doesn't need to be from an anime, manga, or game. Don't expect to survive very long in an impala. But if you REALLY want to...
All right. That's about it.
On the shield, it can be equivalent to a small shield now instead.
Now, if everyone would like to register the name of their mech also. They need names, because names are cool.
Oh, I have the arena hooked up with power restraints in case someone pulls out anything that isn't registered. So watch it!
As if anyone is gonna cheat.
Eat poop daily,

[OOC]"Chris, can't you just live and let live?"
*Scrunches up his face in disgust as he watches Chris anally rape Tree with a pineapple.*
"Sigh... I guess not. That looked painful. Anywho, I guess I might as well switch into my pilot personae for this one."[/OOC]
*Deuce snaps his fingers, and a swirl of dark clouds gathers around his feet. They grow upwards and cover the ork completely, then dissipate, leaving a 12-13 year old boy wearing a simple, unadorned flight suit in his place. The kid, Cale Arin, looks like most others his age, except a small glint of metal at the base of his skull points to something else altogether.
Cale pulls up next to the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center on his dirt bike, then parks it, hops off, and goes inside. Rather than the usual space shuttle assembly, a gleaming, 60 ft. tall mecha stands in the hangar. Looking over the mecha's spec sheet, and glancing at the other entrants' weapons arrays, he motions his chief technician over.*
"We need more weaponry. Keep the laser gattling rifle and the razor whip, add some missiles, maybe a few smaller weapons, you know the deal."
"Sure, no problem. I can give you some of those micro-missiles you like, and we just got a pair of armor-penetrating vulcans we can slap on there. Anything else?"
"Suprise me."
*A few hours pass, during which various mechanical-type sounds can be heard coming from the VAB. Suddenly, all the sounds stop. A few silent moments later, the loud groaning of the building's massive door splits the air. Filling out maybe a quarter of the net height of the door, the 60 foot tall XAR-04B #00-7 Dragon-class Experimental Transforming Robot "Rogue Wyrm" steps out into the bright Florida sunlight. A giant multibarrel laser rifle is slung under its right arm, missle pods are mounted on its shoulders, arms, and legs, and a pair bulges on its shoulders attest to smaller weapons stashed there as well. Around its left arm is what appears to be a long whip or chain. Also hung on its back is a large, slightly oval sheild.
With its fresh coat of gray and navy heat-resistant paint gleaming, the giant 'bot walks out to the extra-long airstrip used by the Shuttle and the 747 that carries it. It stops at one end, and quickly transforms itself into a starfighter. The sheild splits down the middle and slide into positions as wings. The legs fold under into the fuselage, the arms meet overhead and, with a hiss of hydraulics, armor plates cover them to form nose cone, while the head and chest fold up inside the planes body. Somehow during all this, a majority of the weapons swing into positions where they are still perfectly functionable.
Sitting inside the cockpit, which has slid forward into a position similar to many modern fighters. Cale checks and re-checks his pre-flight list. With a last pull on his harness, Cale plugs a small cable into the port on the back of his head. After a few moments, he can feel the faint sensation of another presence inside his mind.*
"Alf," he thinks quietly, "lay in a suborbital course for the coordinates I'm entering now. Don't worry about speed, save fuel instead."
*From the other conciousness in his mind, a response grumbles*
"Fine, leave me to do all the hard work. I assume you'll be taking manual control once we get there."
"Naturally. That's my job. Your job is to plot courses and stuff, not that I couldn't do it myself."
"Yes, about that: I was wondering if we could discuss a raise in my salary..."
"Salary! You're a computer program! You don't get a salary!!!"
"Oh, yes, that's right, I'd forgotten. Now, what were those coordinates?"
*Cale checks the computer printout and punches in a string of numbers. Once Alf's OK comes back, he reaches over to the MP3 player hooked up to his radio/comm unit, and flicks over to Drowning Pool's "Bodies". He runs the mech's almost excessive powerplant up to full throttle and releases the brakes. Leaving a trail of smoke, the craft rockets down the runway and screams into orbit. After a brief 75 minute flight (heading east, takes longer but easier on the fuel load), the ship dives into the atmosphere, waves of heat rolling off of the wings. Streaking like a meteor on a collision course with Terra Firma, the wings suddenly flare out a few thousand feet above the surface, as the Mecha transforms and lands in a crouch, right in the center of the city-wide arena.
Crackling and popping with the intense heat of reentry, the "Wyrm" stands. Inside the armored cockpit, now snugly ensconced within the mech's chest, Cale surveys the area through the dissipating cloud of smoke and dust kicked up by thier landing, while Alf begins sensor-sweeping the other enemies.*
"This should be interesting."
"It always, is, sir."
[OOC]Whoo HOOOOO!!! Laaaaaaadieeeeeees aaaaaaand Gentlemeeeeeeen!!!!!! LET'S GET READY TO RUUUM-BLLLLLLLLE!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry, I'll be staying on the ground for this flight, otherwise I'd exit the arena. Here're the specs...
XAR-04B #00-7 Dragon-class Experimental Transforming Robot "Rogue Wyrm"
Battle Walker Form:
Height: 62 feet (16.7 m)
Empty Weight: 29,532 lbs (13,396.2 kg)
Combat Weight: 44,687 lbs (20,270.7 kg)
Maximum Load: 60,000 lbs (27,217.0 kgs)
Maximum Ground Speed: Like I'd tell you guys
Weaponry:
1) Laser Gattling Rifle. Think Gundam Heavyarms' single-barrled playtoy, but without the persistant ammo problems. Modified from the basic model's rifle, it is lighter while still maintaining a frightening rate of fire.
2) Micro-missile banks. These are along the lines of the missle swarms commonly seen in Macross Plus. They're not the most accurate or powerful, but sheer numbers makes them something to keep in mind.
3) My Little Secret
4) Shoulder-mounted Vulcan Chain guns. Not quite A-10 strength, but close enough.
5) Razor Whip. A long, (comparatively) fine whip which can be used to tangle enemy mechs, or flay lightly armored or unarmored targets.
6) Retractable Wrist Blades. Each wrist has a short (6 foot) carbide knife folded back against the forearm. Not all that effective against other mecha, they are better used to clear obstcles and cut nets, wires, and other things which might entangle the craft.
7) A small army of Ewoks. The greatest anti-mecha weaponry ever!!! Ph33r my furry friends!!! (NOTE: Just kidding!)
Chris, I'll send an e-mail to yah with my secret weapon.
Oh, one note about the mindlink thing. While he can use it to take control of the "Wyrm" directly, he prefers to use manual controls, as it is much simpler. Mainly it serves as a communications link, HUD, and weapons-control systems.[/OOC]
------------------

Your mech sounds reasonable.
I'll check the secret weapon in a minute.
Army of Ewoks, he he, that's funny.
But j00 must be hearing things because I did NOT say it's time to rumble yet.
I have some low buildings equipped with giant pillows and power regenerators so that all fighters start out with full power.
The regenerators will be de-equipped during the battle so everyone better remember to mention whether they have an alternate energy supply core. In case j00 lose your power mid-battle.
Anyways, back to the registration.
Pineapple,

[OOC] Notice I said "Let's get ready to rumble." Otherwise the others would already be dead ^_^.
Uhh, I have a experimental cold fusion reactor which could supply enough power for a good portion of the Eastern U.S. seaboard for about a month, if need be. I'll probably need at least two refueling pit stops and even then won't be able to run anything up to full power. Don't worry, I'm just kidding. I'm all set, power-wise...[/OOC]
*As Alf completes his sweep of the enemy mechs, Cale walks the ship over to one of the many pre-fight recharge stations located around the area. He pulls a large power cord from his thigh, plugs it into the minature nuclear power plant located there,
and quickly tops off the charge banks depleted during his flight over.*

Mecha: Kinslayer
70' high (anyone can tell me how much that is in the decimal system?) Humanoid. Purple and Red. Little in the way of AI. Most targetting and steering done by the crew.
Crew:
Riff (Sluggy Freelance): Steering
Largo (Megatokyo): Engine room
Ken (Japanese Beetle): Energy Weapons
Jordan (Exploitationnow) : Projectile weapons
Filis (Elflife) : Energy sword
Weaponry
1: Energy Sword: red, shiney, makes enemy give off lots of sparks and smokes if hits and such.
2: Laser eyes: they go zap.
3: Shoulder mounted rockets: They go boom
4: Super secret one shot weapon.
5: Booster at the back for a short but intense boostcharge against the enemy (so no flying)
6: Proximity mines coming from the heel of the feet.
7: Anti missile laser on the chest): may or may not shoot incoming missiles depending on Ken's alertness. (this good)
8: In the palm of the lefthand a short range energy blast for extra damage in the short range.
9: Mouth shoots big javelins that send ECM jamming signals when they hit to disrupt communications.
Riff: Kiki, KEEP OFF.
Largo: 1 R00L D15 p0//3R. P|-|34R.
Ken: Hmmm, maybe I sjhould spring Kremlina from jail using this.
Jordan: Hmmm... Big Mecha, check, huge destructive weaponpower, check, alternative prosthetic arm appliances check and doublecheck.
Filis: Someone let me outa this gollem or I'll make whoever did this VERY SORRY.

*The roof access door opens a crack, then flies open as a gust of wind rips by. A man emerges, clad in a black and yellow jumpsuit that looks like it does double duty as body armor and G-suit. A matching helmet is tucked under his left arm. He looks bemusedly at the door handle in his right hand, then tosses it back through the doorway. He approaches Chris' table, pulling folded papers from a leg pocket.*
Sorry I'm late, BC Ferries were behind as usual, and there were some other ... delays getting over the border. Here's the forms and mecha declaration. *looks at the flapping door* Oh, sorry 'bout the door, but it's someone else's building, innit?
*kyhm unfolds the papers and spreads them on the table before Chris.*

Advanced Research Project #12 - Instigator
Abstract
--------
The ARP-12 Instigator is a light combat mecha optimized for speed and
stealth. Developed from the successful Scorpion reconnaissance mecha, the
Instigator boasts most of the speed, strength, and stealth of its
predecessor, but adds more armor and heavier weapons.
Statistics
----------
Weight: 25,000 lbs.
Dimensions: 25'x10'x6' (LWH, body)
35'x15'x15' (LWH, standing with tail facing forward)
Turning radius: 0'
Cruising speed: 120mph
Maximum speed: 204mph
Stealth
-------
- IR cloaking and waste heat recycling prevent heat-seeking locks.
- Intruder chameleon surface renders mecha effectively invisible to
normal vision when operating.

*Chris looks up from papers*
Chris: Why's this chameleon system crossed out?
kyhm: It's controlled by a computer, right? Sooooo, somebody swiped the working one for a demo, I got the backup. Runs on WinCE instead of BSD like the real one. Only works for a few seconds, when I can get it to work at all, and when it crashes I'm wearing a Microsoft logo. 'Course, the surface works, I can paint it with anything I want...
*kyhm walks to the edge of the roof, points a small remote control at his mecha. A loooooong way down, a rapid collage of EN issues and Jordan fan-art flash across the machine's surface, which then returns to its previous black/yellow color scheme*
*Chris nods and continues reading*

Powerplant
----------
2.3GW/s energy banks power high-drain weapons, allowing 34 seconds of
full-rate fire on all weapons. A single 15MW hot fusion reactor provides
ample motive and recharge power. Energy banks recharge fully in about 3
minutes.

Armor
-----
800 DR chobham laminate on body and head, 600 DR elsewhere. I've been
told this was too light and expensive for a combat mecha, but it's
lightweight and extremely effective against anti-tank-type missiles.
My experience has been that most one-shot kills are with missiles.
Weapons
-------
- Two 20mm railguns, one mounted in each claw, with 3500 rounds each.
Rate of fire up to 20 per second per gun, each round hits roughly twice
as hard as a 30mm DU autocannon round, and is armor-piercing. Can be
fired in bursts or continuously, singly or together.
- One gatling X-ray laser, mounted in the tail. Fires 8 rounds per
second, damage is about half a 30mm round. The tail has full motion,
and can be aimed independently of the railguns. No visible beam, and
not affected by smoke, fog, or reflective armor.

- Two small missile launchers each fore and aft, each mounting 4 mini-
missiles. These are linked such that any combination can fire on a
single target.
- Retractable talons in legs, good for grappling and climbing. Non-
retractable edges to the claws.

*Chris looks up again*
Chris: ...and your secret weapon I see.
*kyhm grins and shrugs*
Chris: ok, go park it on over there.
*Chris gestures dismissively to a random skyscraper, then returns to his table.*
Chris: NEXT!

Nope. Never. Maybe this weekend I'll be able to check out that site. I'm kinda pressed for time now.

[OOC] Hey, multiple mecha! That ain't right!!! Well, at least I don't THINK it's right. [/OOC]
*As Cale finishes studying the sensor-scan results, Alf pings him with a warning message. Frowning, Cale glances upwards, his VR link showing him the view as if his mech's head wasn't there. Highlighting the speck that is the falling mecha, he magnifies the image and gets a range lock.*
"That's a rather fast fall. He's either crazy, out of control, or using the exact same landing as we did earlier."
*Cale's third guess is confirmed as the vibration from Spike's mecha's landing shakes the "Wyrm" somewhat. Without a word, Alf begins another sensor sweep on the new mecha, grabbing as much weapons data as possible. [OOC] Please note: despite what Gundam canon says, these sensors CAN get through Minovsky particle interferance [/OOC]
While Alf busies himself, Cale spots a group of smaller craft making its way towards the arena.*
"Hey, Alf, I didn't know squads could enter, we could have brought the team. You think those helicopters will be staying around?"
"I don't know," Alf responds distractedly as he finishes his first scan and beings on the smaller mecha, "although I do enjoy flyswatting."
[OOC] "3. Vulcanized Machine Gun" So they're rubber? Seriously, though, Vulcanizing is what you do to rubber to make it last longer. I think what you meant was "Vulcan Machine Gun". There's a slight difference in meaning there. [/OOC]

The timer ran down, and a barely audible beep was sounded in the cockpit of the mech. Spike opened his eyes, smiling, 'good, we've arrived, now i can finally get off this flying box and start having some fun,' he thought to himself. He switched his console off of stand-by mode. His view screens hummed to life, showing the darkened inside of the cargo hold his suit was laying in. Begining his pre-drop check, he keyed the pilot of the transport, "this is it, prepare for drop in. . .30 seconds."
"roger that, drop in t-minus 30," came the reply. Spike smiled as he finished the activation sequence; the green optical sensors of the gundam flared to life as the rear doors of the ship began to open.
"Gundam 1 this is the pilot, drop in 10 seconds."
"affermative pilot, thanks for the ride," Spikes hands gripped the controls, he loved air drops.

5
"No problem Spike, just remember, now you owe us one."
4
Spike nodded, "you know where to find me guys, wish me luck"
3
"good luck Spike"
2
1
DROP!!
The hydrolic drives in the bay whirred to life, and the mech was catapulted out of the transport. Letting a war cry escape his lips, a maniacal grin was plastered to Spikes face as the gundam rocketed towards the city below. He snapped the mech's arms out, into a skydivers position, considerably slowing the huge robot's acceleration. Tkaing a second, Spike located where most of the other gears had collected, undoubtedly to register. "THERE IT IS ANDURIL! LETS GIVE"EM AN ENTARANCE THEY WON"T FORGET!" the mechs arms drew back alongside the body, streamlining it, making it fall even faster than it had after leaving the transport.
Watching his distance to the ground on the HUD, Spike positioned his hand over the controls for the retro-thruster pack that had been mounted on the gundams back. ". . . just a little closer. . .little closer. ." He noticed a few of the other mechs look up, towards the falling moblie suit. "Hey everyone, mind if i drop in?" He fired the thrusters, and a huge gout of flame erupted from the drop back-pack, decelerating the suit in a matter of seconds. Leaving it to slowly touch down in the midst of the other mecha.
Hitting the release button, the now usless retro thruster pack fell off the back of the gundam and landed heavy on the street below, cratering the asphalt around it. Queing his radio, Spike introduced himself, "so, i hear a party's about to go down. . .mind if i join in on the fun?"

Mobile Suit Gundam Anduril stats:
Once a pilot for the federation, now a rouge mercenary, Spike's gundam had gone through a few . . .modifications. . .
1. left hand has melee gauntlet, the fingers ending in long claw-like tips, also a very short range plasma emmittor rests in the palm of the hand, so that he can grab hold of the cockpit, and then melt through the armor with the emmitor, killing the pilot.
2. vulcan cannons in the head(just like every gundam) for shooting down missles and aircraft.
3. hip mounted energy sabers (once again, standard issue)
4. wolverine assult rifle (with optional shoulder strap, even gundams need to be fashinable)fires large caliber unanium rounds, made for all around mech combat
5. military issue gundam assult shield. attached to left arm. includes attached shotgun, good for short range confrontations and anti-vechicle/infantry.
6. minofsky particle emmitor (is this a weapon, or even allowed?)
7. secret weapon
this suit is a gundam so that means its about 16 or 17 meters tall, making it like. . .60 feet or so tall i think. and also had jump thrusters for long jumps, and also very short range flight.
