Order of Jubal T-Shirts (Please Read)

The noble Order of the Knights of Jubal traces its origins back to the Year Two Thousand A.D., when a group of distinguished persons of good and true character, founded the order to promote chivalry and honour. The order takes its name from our leader, Alexander Jubal McRae, who on two (so far) occasions has been seriously injured, in one case fatally, defending an innocent woman from attackers.

I have been provided a means to have Order of Jubal T-Shirts made. They will be have a logo and/or design on the front and/or possibly back. The details will be ironed out later, but right now I would like to get a good idea on how many people would actually buy one. I need to know what color t-shirt would be best for the KOJ and exactly what will be on it. I was thinking of something along the lines of "Proud member of the Order of the Knights of Jubal" or something. Also, what sizes would be preferable. The few Cafe Press shirts I sold were all XXL. Please give me any feedback you can.
Thank you.
Jamie
------------------

What process for the design? Screen print? Embroidery?
I usually buy XL or XXL t-shirts.
I prefer white/grey/black. Given what KOJ stands for, I think white is the most appropriate.
Now you just need to reassure me that the US$-Canadian$ exchange rate won't kill me and the postage won't double the price. That's what usually prevents me from buying.
Peace and PIQE,

Count me in for one, for sure! (Yes - the exchange rate WILL be a killer, but I want one anyway. XL or XXL.
As for colour, I guess either plain black or white will take the coloured ink better.
As for design, I think the Lady Anne's KOJ emblem should feature somewhere in it, and I'd definately like the URL to appear, so that people seeing the T Shirt can look us up.
Once we have a design finalised, I'll put some graphics up on the EI website.
Regards,

I must speak up I'm afraid, while I agree that for something like this money wouldn't be an object, I must say that any X's or L's would be of no use to me....most large's I could wear as dresses, so maybe a smaller size could be offered for the women of the order?
------------------

I'm in, on the condition that it will be sent along with a Clan of the Cats T-shirt (which I will pay for as well). Size L is fine (although I only need size M)
Two question from me:
1, how do you want us to pay? Check, cash, visa? (nope, no MasterCard or AmericanExpress here.)
2, how do we handle the addresses and such?
PhoenixPaw SpiritWolf, CI
[This message has been edited by PhoenixPaw (edited 05-19-2001).]

I think white would look good (white Knights and all that). I have no idea what would make a perfect-o design. And if you'd be willing to take a check, I'd probably get one!! Size L, probably.
<3

Cool idea. put me down for an XL. I prefer black, but the order seems to want white for the sake of symbology. I have no issue with that, and would proudly wear it even in hot pink. White is fine.
Suggestion... Make it i bit cryptic. Make people ask. Spread the cause.
Best regards.
Lotar Sauvage

Just a few suggestions for the t-shirt -
I think the Symbol could either go on the front top left or as a bigger image across the back. We could theoretically put the Oath in too, but it might seem a little holier-than-thou to go so parading our virtuous aspirations. Furthermore, it might in some ways cheapen the Oath to have it as something which could be just taken on or off.
I'd be happy to go with the colour white, or perhaps a steel grey. Also, I'd like mine in L please.
Lohen

Just one more thing - I'd personally see the Motto: 'Probi Immotiqve Este' as being v. good t-shirt material, although the equivalent in Greek might be even better (I'll get one of my Classicist friends onto it).
Lohen

While I agree that having the motto on the shirts would be a wonderful idea, I was rather confused as to why you would prefer Greek, Lohen.

I personally think the latin translation has a lovely flow to it. ^_~

If international postage is going to be a problem, you can send any shirts destined for Australia in one big batch to me, and I'll forward them through domestic mail to respective owners.
Sames goes for CotC shirts.
Regards,

Would it be possible to order T-Shirts through a company that does sizes to order? I know that my college used such a company for activity/team/club/dorm wear. I'd also like to push for embroidered sweatshirts, as they always look classier than t-shirts.
But then, Jubal always wears a green T-shirt... Maybe this should be the chosen color as well?
------------------

I'd be happy and proud to wear such a shirt, providing one would be available in a M or L, M preferred. I really like the idea of the dark green ones like Jubal wears; I have tons of t-shirts in black and white.

Depending on the Cost I would like two, one XL and one XXL.
I would like to see "Probi Immotiqve Este" or at least "PIQE" on it.

Hmm. We could in good conscience use the arms design, and have the motto on a scroll underneath it in the classical heraldic fashion. I think that would look nice. This should go on the front, as we want the world to see us with open faces, right? The back would be apt for the web addy.
And I would most certainly buy one, believe you me. Put me down for an XL.
------------------

T-shirts are a great idea! XXL-XXXL for me (sorry, but some "women of the order" aren't petite). I prefer black or a whacky tangerine or green, but will go with whatever is chosen. I like the idea of making it cryptic so that people will ask. *grin* I can translate it into Russian for you if you like, now that's cryptic! (Cryptic, Cyrillic, whatever...!)
I really think you should have the Latin name of the order on there, it gives me warm fuzzies.
Zabet the over-educated

I would love a shirt,
Jubal's dark geen is lovely,
And how 'bout a patch?
Our order's emblem

I've so far seen the tend for either White as the color, or Green to match Jubals own shirt. Now, given the Order was founded on the unselfish actions of Jubal, I'd be inclined to think that a shirt of similar color, and mayhaps even similar style, would be of most appropriatness.
And so far, a few sizes have listed M and L by request as well as XXL and XXXL. So, obiously some variety to the size is needed, so the more basic a convention for the shirts style would perhaps be paramount first.
And there's definately a seeming consensus for the Logo and Motto.
For myself, I'd love to have a shirt resembling Jubals in color (and if possible, style)in L with the Logo (center top front) and Motto (center bottom front). URL or what not for Order and CotC on Back, maybe even a CotC Logo/Patch/Acronym/whatnot on shoulder or back (badge of honor/repect to the roots sort of thing).
Hrm. If that's 2 cents, I think I need to get my change jar to the bank 'fore my floor breaks. :-)
