Roll Call!

The noble Order of the Knights of Jubal traces its origins back to the Year Two Thousand A.D., when a group of distinguished persons of good and true character, founded the order to promote chivalry and honour. The order takes its name from our leader, Alexander Jubal McRae, who on two (so far) occasions has been seriously injured, in one case fatally, defending an innocent woman from attackers.

I've got an idea for the EI homepage... we could have graphic of a map of the world and put dots down where we're all from. I'd be willing to do the graphic if Jamie (or whoever does most of the web stuff) would put it up. I wouldn't put any names, just dots, and the majority of the info I need has already been posted here in this thread..! This way we (and visitors to the EI page) can see how diverse a group we are geographically.
And then you have the bonus of being able to say, "All over the world, people still believe in chivalry." (I think we can also technically use the phrase "world famous," then, too *laughs*)
May the Powers That Be let me know. And if this little project gets approved, let me know if you *don't* want your little dot up for any reason.
Zabet!

Jim Brockman, hear me:
What TimberBram says is true.
Haikus are simple.
There are no rules/rhymes,
Only your five, seven, five.
And all that you feel.
Or, like my haikus,
Only the point you make.
It is that simple.
------------------

Back to haikus... (hello, OT!)
I was under the impression that a haiku had to be about a season of the year. If it had the same structure but not the required subject, then it was called something else that I can't recall just now... Has anyone else heard this before/can back me up/can shoot me down?
Zab

Japanese haikus are traditionally about some aspect of Nature. However: a haiku in English may only follow the structural scheme to qualify as a haiku, but is obliged to nothing more to keep its qualification. If someone wished to speak in haikus
I would not mind it
If that is what they wish for
For I see no harm.
------------------
