Hmm! Keeping us guessing!

Though I am totally calling it that this dude becomes Nimmel's missing eye.

Each of them have a servant or something that is also corrupted and has a tiny part of each of the archmages locked in them that isn't corrupted like their main body in order to give them a boost in power. The little eye one got lucky and was able to kill Snert and escape. I pray to god I am wrong.

Dear god. Why did I have to be right?
Brett:Yeah? How about I break your face instead?!
Rachel:I invite you to try, Taggerty.

What a surprise, mortal wounds don't kill Mookie's characters. And I thought for sure that he was actually going to do something interesting.

I am calling this too now, along with a significant power boost.

Either that, or they'll bring it up in dialogue for this dude to shoot it down and lecture Nimmel on how complicated it would be to wire himself into his burnt ocular nerves. Which actually could be a pretty good lecture.
The road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door, where it began,
Now far ahead the road has gone
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Meeting those who travel on the way,
Where many paths and errands meet,
And whither then, I cannot say.

Bah! I preferred the idea that all the archmages are evil / in cahoots with the King. It would explain their ridiculous reaction to Miranda's attempt to get them to face the Beast. "He's too weak to bother?" How stupid can you be? I actually momentarily considered this scenario to be a remedy for that ludicrous arc. Now we're right back to zero... or negative. Nonetheless, the worst part still has to be that he can help Nimmel save his friends.

No, the worst part is that Nimmel has "potential" to be an archmage.

No. The worst part is that Nimmel has the potential to do anything. Archmage is just the highest he can attain. The fact that he could be a fry cook is depressing all on it's own.

You really don't know if that's still the case or not. They're being controlled; who knows how long they've been controlled for?

Stupidity has its own infinite continuum, from bordering on the brain dead to just shy of normal.
