Heh, that was my initial reaction, too. That RC could be misleading us again.
Either way, I don't think Steven has a proper excuse for her being there, even if it's not exactly what it looks like. But who knows - he might just surprise me. (RC knows. Which makes it very hard not to beg of him "Tell us, RC, pleeeeaaase!" *sigh* I know this thing updates 6 days a week, but somehow it just doesn't seem to be enough... This is by far my favourite webcomic, so it's probably just me being ridiculously impatient.)

I mean that RC was making it look like Steven had had an affair with that-hot-asian-chick-who-wants-him while Miriam was out. Which is exactly what Miriam thought when she saw her there, all nekkid and stuff. But it was another set-up like that time with Miriam and Clayton. Only this time we, the readers, weren't fooled so easily.

Also, I have a feeling that what's-his-face didn't blow the ONLY chance he'll ever get. If we're not supposed to see him again, it wouldn't make sense to get to know him this well. And I still kinda like him. He's the first character in this comic that I feel I've met IRL. Him and perhaps Chuck. (Apart from the whole being black thing. Not that many coloured people in rural Denmark, where I live...)

I don't get it. If Sherry's a cracker, why did he pursue her in the first place? I mean, if it's just about looks (she IS gorgeous, ofc) I'm sure he could pick up any other beautiful girl he wanted. Even if he's just being spiteful because of the way he blew his chance, I'm sure he means it at some level.
I'm just a little confused, because it seems to me that he started out by thinking that Sherry was ... something more than Miriam. And, yeah, I DO remember his not-so-respectful speach to Ari about prizes and consolation prizes. I just don't understand how Sherry has gone from grand prize to cracker...

1) Rod is bitter that Sherry spurned him, so he now views her contemptuously

Yeah, I thought of all those possibilities, but alone none of them seems "enough" for him to have changed his opinion of her so radically. But yeah, if it's a little bit of everything, it makes sense. I guess. Thanks, RC.

Based on today's comic (10/13), am I the ONLY one here who thinks Miriam should cut her losses and just leave Steven to rot? It seems like Miriam's trying to punish herself for picking this moron in the first place. At least she has What's His Name's number on her stomach so she can call him...

I wouldn't be so quick to call Steve the moron here. Miriam must have known that he'd be like that to at least some extent, and sticking her foot in it was her decision.
