I'm fine with a lighthearted RP, but I would still like to know what exactly you don't like about my new cahracter. Is it the name? I don't see any problem with that. a good deal of shonen have people with normal everyday names, and even if you are only using shonen that include people with really absurd names, than think of my character's name as a subversion of the norm. this is a parody RP, so why not parody the name in some way?
Is it is personality? I remember once seeing an anime about this one dim-witted mage who thoguh a strange twist of fate, falls through the roof of a temple and the priestess inside is forced to serve him due to what her god told her. in one seen, they're fighting some monters and he goes berserk and beats the crap out of him, going from a nice, kind-hearted individual, to a bloddthirsty psycho, much like my character. seems shonen to me.
His appearence seems fine to me. Sure, most shonen heroes are in peak physical condition, but there are some taht are not. not many, but I've seen it. his hair is pretty similar to the hair of the cahracter I mentioned above, only it's light brown insted of dark purple. again, the tan comes from the above character.
His uniform modification perhaps? So he wears a hat, big deal. This is a lighthearted parody, so why can't a shonen hero have a stupid modification like that if they so chose?
His background is most definetly Shonen. I mean, how many tiems have you read through a shonen manga taht starts out normal, only to find out in the second chapter taht the main character has stumbled into some secret magical world of some sort? Usualy, they only stumble in like this because they already have some affinity towards it(sailor moon, cardcaptor sakura, bleach). On rare ocasions, it's just normal people that end up caught up in this stuff and only later getting good at it(el hazzard, death note, hikaru no go). Seeing as he kinda fits into both in some ways, how is he not shonen?

Is there something I missed? Please, tell me what part of my character isn't shonen enough.

He isn't trying to work with you because it's a lost cause. Your character cannot be salvaged.

Also, since you seem to be having trouble with the concept: Like most of the forum, Kalga thinks you're an idiot. That is not the same thing as holding a grudge against you. I can state with 100% certainty that you'd still get tossed out on your arse if you used an alt, because your character would be just as terrible even if it came from someone we'd never heard of.

I'm not entirely sure I want to stay in the RP, but I don't really want to leave just because of something this shallow and pedantic...

The way it was put forth aside, the fact is that Kalga is running the game. For the players, playing the game in a setting they like is fun. For the GM, running a game in a setting he likes is fun. And if he is forced to run for a player he does not like, he does not have fun. Just like you as the player have every viable right to pick and choose what game you play, the GM, for putting forth the effort to make and run a game fur us, has the right to say no to a player. Sometimes people just don't like people, that's how life goes. It's not fair, but neither is life. Heck, I've been turned away from games because the GM doesn't like me, it happens.

eh...yeah, that's a fair point, Malachy. I won't begrudge Kalga's amusement for the sake of someone joining, so I'll agree with what you're saying.

I'll stay around, if only because I do plan on having fun instead of ruining someone else's...otherwise I'd be dragging the entire thing down for no reason at all.^^;
