Pardon my asking this, but how exactly would Sarah know it wasn't just some crush? It can be kinda hard to tell sometimes when you're the one who's feeling it, especially at that age.

I am surprised by the sheer amount of honesty and openness in this strip. I mean Elliot just went through all this trouble to execute an elaborate plan to hide the truth. Most people I know would feel like they were in too deep to turn back now and would commit to the lie wholeheartedly. Mainly to spare the other persons feelings the added burden of betrayal, open rejection, and mistrust. And then there's Sarah, Elliot just broke her heart. He openly admitted he was manipulating her and was rejecting her. Even under these terrible conditions she still was able to make a confession of love to him. Heck, she still loved him after all that. To me, both of them must have a large amount of courage to be this open with each other. I hope they stay together for a long time.

Well, cute though it would be, in all likelyhood this isn't Sarah's first 'crush'. She might have earlier experience to compare to.

Chronos: I didn't realize it was generally possible to tell the difference between a crush and being in love while you were feeling the emotion in question. I always thought it was more a retroactive thing - "I guess I wasn't in love, it was just a crush."

But, seeing as I've never experienced either emotion, what would I know?

Crystal: I'm pleased to receive confirmation that my initial evaluation was correct. (Of course, waiting two-and-a-half years for the question to be addressed on the forums was certainly not the fastest possible method of finding out, but meh, it was a low-priority question.)
