I've read that one. :)

The author definitely has some interesting takes on things like werewolves and demons (her vampires seem closer to your neo-classical Stoker/Rice types, but still not totally) and her portrayal of angels is pretty close to puritanical as well--genderless warriors with a moral code that, to humans, might seem a bit screwed up at times. I think there was also some hint that the angels weren't what they seemed, but I had stopped reading for a while. I'll have to pick it up again.

my favourite character would be Rebecca Wolfe, possibly because of her naive attitude towards things... that and shes cute :)

I'm fond of Jeff for similar reasons... the unfortunate Everyman who, albeit more innocent than naive, now has to deal with all this stuff being dumped in his lap--including babysitting the terror-tyke who turned him.

His innocence makes him very cute.
