I'm so sorry, your Deitifiedness, my mere mortal brain has unfortunately been elsewhere on my own mortal matters, like recovering my dead hard drive.

ahhh . . . for some reason, it had not yet occurred to me that there are other boards on keenspot forums besides this one.

That, and I thought her post count must have been bogus somehow.

I'm definitely that active - just not here. On one other comic's forums I'm definitely a troll with something like the 3rd most posts.

Just remember how many different comics there are on Keenspot and how many forums that is...

I'm just impressed at the sometimes-surprising knack which Ian hits the nail on the head with BtB.

I've just finished transcribing up "The Cumbakh Trail" and I can see every celebrity reality TV show in it. Every one.

I wasn't online much in 2004 so I didn't read this at the time, but sometime in 2005 I read it for the first time (upon reading the archive end to end) and as I come to transcribe it, I realise yet again that it's still true, although we appear to be losing the reality shows a little. Even that hell-spawn Big Brother might be ending with any luck.

It's also reminding me how consistent Ian has been with Bruno; I can only name a couple of other comics that have shown the consistency Bruno has of style, quality and regularity. You can see the consistency of Bruno posting through the ages; WordOwl has timelines: a broad one and a detailed one.

And w00t, finishing this arc means over 3/4 of the archive is done. I think it's worthwhile though. Hopefully everyone else thinks the same.

oh, i'd never come after anyone with a katana.

a bat'leth seems a _lot_ more efficient.

A lot less efficient.

The main advantage of a sword is the torque. The length multiplies the force that you can put into the blade's swing. With a batleth, you pretty much only have the force of your arm muscles due to the shape. Fighting with a bat'leth also requires a lot more room and they are much more easily parried and countered.

Heck, i could beat any klingon easily given a foil or epee. (I think the sabre requires too much slashing motion to fight a batleth as easily).

Nah. I wouldn't want a sword.

Give me a longbow any day. (I'm English, through and through - hey, it worked at Agincourt, didn't it?)

I'll admit the point that a longbow is better than a sword in most circumstances.

Certainly they've won wars.

well, it seemed a bit unsporting to use a distance weapon.

otherwise, i would have just gone indie-style, and used a gun.

pfh. guns.

They were the first point and click interface. Mouses have point and click interfaces. Moving mice around all day is unmanly. .: Mouse is not manly, because she would use a gun.

1)Bat'leths are pretty light. If you ever come by the St. john's area, I know someone who has one. Actually, i know multiple people with bat'leths . .. unless they were all borrowing the same bat'leth, which seems possible.

2)read the post right above my last one.

So, anyways, off I go to a fencing tournament this week.

No bat'leths, unfortunetely.

I did, however, see a German Schlager. Used in academic fencing.

German Schlagers are thick . . . I can't believe the kind of manman that would specifically design one of these to get scarred by it.

And Bat'leths are actually pretty light. I checkeed the weight specifications today, and I'd wager that if you could carry around your laptop, you could carry a bat'leth. Depends on the weight of your laptop and it's very existence, though.

well, they were germans.

and i think the prussians were the ones who really got into it.

it's rather amusing, though - they had all sorts of protective gear to ensure they wouldn't actually get hurt in their quest to get scarred.
