Now that you mention it, it might've. But I'm at 3,000 strips on Thursday, so I should be forgiven.

The way I figure it, any times the pets repeat a conversation, it's because they have really short memories.

If it was repeated, it was good enough to repeat. Maybe you could repeat it again in another 1000 strips. Better yet, you could have regular "fear of exploding" weeks in addition to one shot weeks. Then you could use the spot in 1000 strips time to resolve that "crawling through pipes" sub plot.

I hope something special happens for the 3000th strip. There should be a party to which nobody is invited because it's very exclusive indeed.
