Funny, I never go there considering how much of an journal fiend I am. I think I am even in that community.

On today's strip's commentary [10/27, orig 12/13/04]:

One of my co-workers recently had a drink thrown in his face (he claimed it was unprovoked, but honestly, he's a misogynist, a moron and tempermental, and I fully suspect he deserved it) while at a club. Apparently vodka stings a bit when it hits the eyes--he was walking around with a red raccoon-mask for two days.

I suspect it would -- alcohol is a toxin[1] and your eyes are the one place on you where you have living cells on the surface (the rest of your skin has dead cells for the top layer).

[1] That's the reason it can be used as antiseptic because you can use it to kill off bacterial cells. However, it's a general toxin.

woot... i've had a drink thrown at me before, though it mostly hit my chest and only kinda splashed my face. i was in a gay bar with a bunch of friends and got hit on by some old yucky dude. as a straight chick, i was expecting the men to be the least of my problems. as it turns out, i was a bit too gleeful in my rejection, and i got splooshed. it was hilarious. half of my friends were huffing up into fight mode, and the other half were laughing right along with me. in the end, the laughs won out.

i've never gotten to throw the drink, though. there's one more thing to do before i die.

Good news: She's back. The commentary will now finish all the way through regardless of real-world interruptions, as it's all been uploaded.

Better news: She's got something in the works.

Fantastic news: She's got TWO somethings in the works, one of which is a 'sequel' to QoW.

Less joyful news: She's been run ragged by her job, hence the long hiatus.
