RPG World Last Comic Announcement Anniversary

Postby Bertoffski on Wed Aug 09, 2006 1:18 pm

Noob Disclaimer:

Alright, I've had this account for about 45 seconds, so I don't know if this has already been pointed out, if I'm posting it in the right section or anything like that.

Anyway, I noticed that in exactly one week, it will have been exactly one year since the announcement of RPG World's end. That last comic still isn't here, but rather than raging about it and revealing my own emotional dependence on RPG World, I have chosen to sympathize with Ian, as I am writing my own comic series and have finished about one book a year. Anyone want to comment on this anniversary?

The advantage working with an artist gives me is that someone else does most of the work, so unless things get really busy, or something catastrophic happens, my comic should continue.

I may only enjoy a small handful of comics, but it is unfortunate when a creator can no longer indulge in their passions.

Oh, yeah!
I did a screen-capture of a related Comixpedia article last year:

It's impossible to find the actual article ever since Comixpedia changed their website design unfortunately...

What if making the comic is no longer their passion?

Wow

And to think I was looking forward to that final boss battle...

It's gotten ridiculous looking at the "blog post" joke every few weeks for a year. Now I know that I don't need to anymore. But what was with Ian's last message that he didn't want RPG World to end on a sour note or something?

Oh, well. I ended my comic pretty much the same way, only I was roughly halfway done with it. However, a year or two later, I started all over again, only my drawings were relatively more coherent and understandable to English-speaking humans. Just a few more month-long hiatuses before I get right back to where I was when I stopped last time!

P.S. Did I miss the anniversary? That would ironic. I think maybe I did.

Sniff sniff. It was a good comic. I'm sure he's moved on by now....but alas, it was so close to being finished.

Shut up.

Ian's 'lackeys' are still lurking about; they're all a bunch of morons.

he's hinted that he might work on the comic again, but with an utterly different art style.
which could be a good or bad thing, that remains to be seen.

I did a guest comic for it back when Mixed Myth was still going. Ironically, it was just before RPG World stopped updating. The guest comic was never used, of course.

Starting it up again in another art style? Hmm...but it's so close to the end, isn't it?

Oh my god how could he not use that? D:

That guest comic is special in at least 50 ways.
