How will EGS end? (Theories)

I expect EGS will end when Tedd wakes up and finds it's all a dream.

Or not, I don't know.

I can imagine a filler at the end of a hiatus involving Dr. Germahn, and the Futurama joke.

Panel One: *last panel of the last comic*

Panel two: *last panel fading to black as best you can in a non-animated thing*

Panel three: Dr. Germahn, saying "So that's what life would have been like if I had sent those Uryoums to Verres' house..."

Panel four: Amanda walks on, and says "Erm, doctor Germahn? You DID send them to Verres' house."

Panel five: Amanda showing Dr. Germahn a monitor with the current situraion in continuity on it in a different view. "See, you even put cameras in to monitor what happens."

Panel six: Silence as Dr. Germahn figures this out.

Panel seven: Dr. Germahn saying "Right. Well, let's get it moving, shall we? And I know just the way..."

Panel eight: Dr. Germahn, Amanda in tow, is talking to Dr. Wisebottom of General Protecton Fault. "Hey, can we borrow this time machine?" "Only if you promise to not screw up reality."

Yeah, I actually do imagine that Dr. Germahn is in Mr. Verres' government department, sent the Uryoums to Tedd's house, and since Dr. Germahn and Amanda appeared while Fooker and Fred were going to Wisebottom's in General Protection Fault, we can assume they have easy access to each other, and when you think aobut it they'd probably be good friends.

In terms of how the comic will end, I think it'll be similar to Bonus Stage, except with more of a feeling of completion. Something will come up in the real world, Dan will finish the current storyline quickly, and any remaining mysteries he will reveal to anyone who asks.

But anyway, I can see Dan continuing the story indefinitely, until his own death in the far future. And then more EGS will be constructed from His Hallowed Notes by his offspring.

Well, that should be better then The Silmarillion.

The first that comes to my mind is, does our great god Teh Shive have a clear end in mind that he's working toward? Logic (and my own writing style) tells me yes...in any story one tells, the writer (or artist) tends to have a clear beginning and end thought out from the start, and maybe a few key points in the middle as well.

...ahem. Sorry. Got carried away there. I finally went over there and read the archives. Holy Cheese, that's some good stuff.

The way some fans reacted you would think the universe HAD been destroyed. But yes, Holy Cheese indeed.

f) Dan will get onto a plane and fall asleep so that when he wakes up only ten others on board are awake, and the rest are completely gone, and so they land on a deserted runway and look around a place where time seems frozen. Then a guy goes crazy and kills several of the passangers, though not Dan, until he is left behind when giant pacman-like monsters start eating up the tarmac and runway. Then the nearly-empty plane will take off, fly through a time portal it had evidently gone through before, and land at an airport and no one will be there, still. But we won't have to fear, suddenly time starts again and they are all home. And Dan is perfectly alive, except that he dies in an antidramatic carcrash on the way home.

I read the entire archives over just a two day span. Taken in that concentrated of a dose, the ending fits perfectly. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Whatever Dan does when he finally wraps up EGS, I have a feeling the emotional impact (on me, at least) will be similar.

What is this Doomology about? Let the man work, and let it end as he wants it. He cares for his chars, so he will not kill them with a cancer solution. If he stresses, he can just stop for a month or two. If he stops and never starts again, we can trace him to his home... errr, what i meant to say is that he is the creator so he has the right to do so. So all I will do, is sit back take a can of anythink i like to drink, grab some food, and enjoy the ride.

I really hope it doesn't go on forever. I really hope Dan realizes when he's run out of good material and doesn't go on making comics for the sake of making comics.

And there will probably come a time when he moves on to something different. Possibly a different comic, possibly another project altogether.

I want all plot threads to be closed and a good place to stop set before it ends.

And it will end before it gets to the point where I'm just doing it to do it; I'm one of those people who wishes Simpsons ended with dignity years ago (I particularly think the episode with Sideshow Bob's brother would've been a good place to end the Sideshow Bob appearances).

EDIT: The last storyline will likely be after a storyline with conflict, i.e. there may be a "final climatic showdown" story arc, but there'd be a storyline/arc after that would be almost completely character driven with no bad guy to face and no new dangling plot threads.
