The ones that aren't funny are some of the best ones. Taigan's Story of the girls is proof of that.

But your Bohemian Rhapsody is still the best.
The book is almost always better than the movie. You could have no better case in point than FROM HELL, Alan Moore's best graphic novel to date, brilliantly illustrated by Eddie Campbell. It's hard to describe just how much better the book is. It's like, "If the movie was an episode of Battlestar Galactica with a guest appearance by the Smurfs and everyone spoke Dutch, the graphic novel is Citizen Kane with added sex scenes and music by your favourite ten bands and everyone in the world you ever hated dies at the end." That's how much better it is. - Warren Ellis.

EVIL.

Maybe, I was going to do the "Weird Al" version as a joke (not really, but thought about it).

I'm not quite done watching but at this point I just had to stop to say,

1. "WTF am I seeing!?" (my response to random hilarity overload)
2. The slappy-fight image was absolutely the perfect match for the drums at that part. :lol:
3. I'm sorry, but I can't hear this song accompanying video without singing along to "Zerowing Rhapsody" in my head anymore. ;)

...ok, done watching now. The timing seemed to lose synchrony (but not like it was an error in playback as changes were sometimes too soon, sometimes too late) about 1/2 of the way through...but that doesn't detract too much from it being funny. :)

Awesome job Squato, you did it again. Also, I have a music video based on Neongenesis Evangelion to the same song. A friend sent me the movie because he wanted the live version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the background. If anyone likes the anime and wants to see it they can e-mail me and I will send it to them.

Gah. I have ideas churning in my head now for a music video, but I don't have the software or technical experience to do it right!

The song is Goo Goo Dolls' new single, Better Days. Here's what I'm envisioning, more or less ... some images are in my mind more clearly than others. Assume all dialogue has been taken out of the images in question, unless otherwise noted.

BETTER DAYS

(slow opening chords on piano, 4 measures)

<First measure, fade in with a panning shot of a Christmas tree or something similarly holiday-oriented. Second, third, and fourth measures, fade in turn to Tedd, Nanase and Ellen each lying awake, looking sad, lost, or disconnected.>

And you ask me what I want this year

<Dan next to his Christmas tree, 2nd panel>

And I'll try to make this kind and clear

<Nioi holding Dan, 2nd panel>

Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

<Tedd & Grace holding each other, Hurricane Katrina filler>

'Cause I don't need boxes wrapped in strings

<Grace unwrapping present, three consecutive shots>

And desire and love and empty things

<Ellen and Nanase in the car after Painted Black>

Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

<Nanase holding Ellen, last panel>

So take these words

<"yoink!", panel 5>

and sing out loud

<Elliot screaming, panel 4>

'Cause everyone is forgiven now

<Nanase taking Ellen's hand, last panel>

'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again

<Ellen asleep, fades to Kid Ellen on the bus>

And it's someplace simple where we could live

<first day of school, panel one>

And something only you can give

<Magic nose beepage>

And that's faith and trust and peace while we're alive

<pan across panel 2 with Susan, Justin, Nanase, and Ellen>

And the one poor child who saved this world

<baby Grace>

And there's ten million more who probably could

<Montage of Kid Ellen, Kaoli, Kid Tedd>

If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them

<panels 5 and 6, followed by Ellen holding Teddin panel 4>

So take these words

<Mr. Verres gesturing at graph>

and sing out loud

<"Eureka" principal>

'Cause everyone is forgiven now

<Grace confronting her lespuko side, then hugging it, then it changing out of battle form and looking at her>

'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again

<fade back to Grace sitting on the hilltop at the beginning of her dream>

(instrumental)

<Montage from Nanase's dream -- drowning, kissed by Ellen, transformed into mermaid>

I wish everyone was loved tonight

<Silhouettesof Ellen and Nanase, then Ell and Nan facing each other, then each of them [urlhttp://www.elgoonishshive.com/egsnp/d/20040529.html]alone in bed>

And somehow stop this endless fight
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

<[urlhttp://www.egscomics.com/d/20040512.html]explosion, followed by fading smoke clearing to show Nioi holding Grace inside her force field>

So take these words and sing out loud

<not sure what to do for this one; maybe something with a Vlad-to-Vladia transition>

'Cause everyone is forgiven now

<Grace's family in group hug>

'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again

<montage, panels 2-4, as the heroes come home>

'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again

<last four panelsof Tedd, then Sarah, embracing Elliot and Grace>

<fade to white>

<Text, cursive script: "Merry Christmas from El Goonish Shive">

If your using a PC then you should have Movie Maker (not the best, but not hard to use). It's a good way to getting in to making Music Videos (note to self, need to work out how to capture screen image).

Not a bad idea you have there.

A bump and a salute for the three good music videos.

And, funnily, I heard Zerowing Rhapsody before I heard the original for the first time from your video...

Now for some news, hopfully tomorrow I will start my next video (your only hint, the last video is related).

Now I should point out that I will be trying something new with it. Heres hoping it works.

Here's hoping as well.

Don't rush it, though. I want it to be absolutely perfect.

I have every faith that it will be.

Okay, well, the first one is good.

The second one is decent, but would've been better if you'd used an unedited version of the song *grr* I hate censorship.

The third one... is just weird. No story to it, just take a bunch of EGS panels and stick Queen lyrics in 'em. Still, it's appealing in its own abstract way.

I never, I just took the version off a CD. Anyway, that version is better then the album version.

Well then. This is something.

After I took a look for this thread I found it on page four. But you may ask, why did I dig it up? Was it because I wanted people to view the Music Videos I had made as they maynot have followed the link in my sig?

No, it was because of this (11.5MB).

No this video was very different to the others I've made. One reason is that this is not the one tha I was making (it was in fact two, but neither felt right, but I know how to save them). The other is because I did this one in 2 and a bit days, something I have never done before.

Now the song is Everything Burns by Ben Moody and An (from Fantastic Four). It's focus on Grace and Damien. Now to do that, I did have to cut parts of the story. That shouldn't be an issue.

So enjoy.

That was sweet!

This one was so much more... integrated that your past ones. By sticking to the canonical story, you were able to let the actions tell the story without the viewer having to read each frame.

I'd say the artistically best part of it is how you synched the change in the music (from haunting to hard) with Grace's attack on Damien.

My applause.

I noticed that you left-out her 'last words' - worried that it might be a bit over-the-top?
