So anime girlie comes out swinging as ABB and progressive.

She:

Hates the President

Is antigun -maybe a leap here ;)

Typical liberal values, goes home to rich conservative mother for support after college. Especially after testifying against the favorite son in a murder trial.

Yep No Subtleness Here.
Should be interesting in the forums when this comic gets labeled and the Antis start showing up in larger numbers.

/Still think Sore Losers is a more app title.

We heard you the first time.

Now if you'll kindly shut up it will be greatly appreciated.

Edit: *cough* Uh, I mean, yes. Yes I agree. Democrats are such sore losers. This year instead of whining they should just rig the election. That'll learn em.

We'll be seeing a lot of this here, won't we? Oh well, that was inevitable, given the nature of the comic.

Who really cares about the Democrats or the Republicans? Neither effectively represent the liberals, Democrats go on about liberal values but they never actually do anything (see: Clinton). Honestly, do Americans not see the two parties are identical or do you just pretend and laugh at Europeans in secret as you managed to fool into believing you have no political sense? :P

With that kind of attitude for parties I should round up a mob and tar and feat.... ::pauses and thinks::

You might be onto something there ::skitters off to the library to do research::

Democracy has it's problems, but unless your dictator/emporer/king is unusually benevolent and exceptionally wise (cf. Solomon?) you're SOL. Here you can vote the bad person out and a good person in.

This is bad because?

Well, yeah, lets not all go and say communism rocks now. Democracy works fine but it'd work better if people voted. I can't vote here *points at chest* 'cause I'm a Canadian, weeee *runs around squealing like a japenese schoolgirl* woa, ok, I'm sorry, I'm back. I am the King of France!

Because it typically fails to work, as there's no good person with a clean bio actually trying to get voted in, or he gets screwed over by those in power. It's happened over and over and over again. There's too much potential for manipulation for democracy to truly work in a capitalistic media-heavy society.

...And that's why I'm an anarchist.

No. Because stupid people argue. And fat slobs/idiots who can't be bothered to educate themselves on current events and important social issues somehow manage to muster up the energy to vote for whichever moron has the best personality or most campaign ads.

A democracy only works when the people actually care enough about their system of government to actively participate and be educated enough to take part. However, most people are stupid and lazy and thus the system becomes corrupt and meaningless.

An ideal dictatorship is where the man (or woman) in power is the most proficient at running the country. However, as was stated above, most people are stupid and thus the person in power turns out to be a corrupt, greedy bastard who doesn't care for the well-being of his people.

Therefore, the best system of government is, euh... omg boobies. <3

I concur absolutely. Boobies in 2008!

...Although this is about the US, and with the obesity rates there, not to mention candidate quality, we'd probably just end up with manboobs instead. :P

I think all of us would vote for that.
Damn it, how to become an american citizen in time to vote for boobies in the upcoming election.

A friend over at ES said it best.

RMG wrote:Jesus, that's terrible. I hate it when a character is propped up just to be completely unreasonable, so we can see how OMG xtreem the author is. It's the comic equivlent of a stawman arguement.

Plus, the protagonist is oversexualized to the point she no longer resembles a human being. I call this "Croft's Syndrome".

Seriously, could those things on her chest even be said to resemble human breasts? It's more like some kind of bizzare flak jacket, or perhabs gear for some obscure full-contact sport. Breasts hang.

Actually, everyone lost.

Electing the president isn't supposed to be seen like some sports event where you root for the home team. It would be wise to take into account what's going on in the world, especially when it comes to our rights and freedoms.

Tell your friend that most of us aren't going to give a rat's ass what he thinks. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but you'd be delusional to think that everyone's going to agree with you.

Don't like anime/manga? Don't like liberals? Well, how can I put this? Hard cheese! Don't read it. Don't support what you don't like. You're preaching to the wrong crowd.

Or if she is a grey-type alien with bad taste in clothes and wigs. Its like Britney Spears took an overdose of bovine estrogen and took a roll in some toxic waste. Somebody must have been in desperate need of a date in order to come up with HER.

I thought the US was a repub...

No. Not even going to say it. Its so artificial and egocentric. ^ Have you ever had someone say that to you in a political discussion. It so throws the grove off whatever your talking about.

Ya. This should be an interesting comic. Political commentary/discussion is always good, the anime art style isn't all that terrible.

O. And the US is a "Elitist Democracy" =(Personal opinion don't stone me)

Cheers,
Rhaps.

As much as I could care less about this characters figure. I think I give Shobbs the logic award on this one.

I am more looking forward to what the creators have to say through their characters.

Looking forward to good logical political arguing on both sides.

I am just wondering why everyone finds it so hard to draw a tie...
Do they not know how these things work?
The loop would come out of the top of the knot, not from the sides.
Like so: http://www.olegvolk.net/olegv/cyberx/tie.JPG
Is it really so hard?

I have the unpleasant feeling you might get more than you wish for - heavyhanded political innuendo and "I'm a liberal but I won't say anything original lest I offend my readers" puns. Pray that I'm wrong.
