Guess I'm the first to post on the Monday's strip.
Joe not here right now!
I guess Joe's still uncomfortable in the presence of Feebs . . .
This strip was funny, not because its humorous, just because it's weird.
I now identify with Joe.
Zippthorn (I didn't when he was gettin' sum)

Great, just what I needed, to actually *think* about the today's comic. I agree with Jhamin, Joe's just riding an easy high now, and Ceilidh's seemingly abrupt questioning, coupled with Phoebe's presence (seeing as they didn't end on best terms, he's probably harboring some unsettled feelings about her), breaks that sense of permanence many people strive to achieve. As for what Joe wrote in Phoebe's yearbook, the whole debate reminds me of the briefcase in Pulp Fiction.
------------------

How could what Joe has written in Pheobe's year book have any effect on his and C's relationship. He wrote it before they got together.

Heh , Joe's mind snaps so very easily....
All it took this time was , what , 7 seconds after they walked up to him , and there wasn't even any nudity or violence involved

What we see here is classic good cop/bad coop. Ceilidh's wide-eyed looking-for-reassurance would be easy to deal with if it weren't for Phoebe lurking menacingly in the background.

I suspect this doesn't have anything to do with Pheobe specifically.
After all the stuff J & C went through to get as far as they have I'm guessing J is feeling pretty darn good right about now. Everything is calm, everything is under controll. Now C is coming up to him asking if everything is all right and is there something they need to talk about?
Howling and running away would be my reaction.
He is freezing up. I can respect that too.

I was rolling laughing in my bed when I got to the.
Joe's reaction might be explained by the fact that he knows what he wrote in the yearbook and it may just kill his relationship with Ceilidh. If he wrote, like some implied, words of undying love in the yearbook then I think Phoebe might go the extra mile to get her man back.
Much twistiness ahead, as usual.
Ties

The relationship stuff, sure. But Joe points at Feebs and says "J--Just why is she here?!"
Note both the stutter (PHILLIPS SPEKE for 'motional hiccup) and extra punctuation (COMIX SPEKE for great emotions). Either it's 'cause of what Joe wrote in Feebs' yearbook--I happen to think Joe is just level-headed enough to write little more than an apology for scaring her off in Grade 9, or something similar; I doubt he said something along the lines of "KILL MY LONELY"--or he's still not at ease with being in her company (there are other strips that support Joe's feelings about being near Phoebe, but I can't find 'em and I'm sleepery now.
Zippthorn

Maybe Joe doesn't want to talk about his and Ceilidh's relation in front of an audience, especially in front of Phoebe. Because it's private stuff, and because Phoebe cann't be considered neutral party, and because she's feared where'er she goes...
Anh Minh
