A little google and I find it was the original three smurflings that created Sassette.
Gargamel was expelled from wizard school because they thought he was mad. He kept talking about little blue smurfs. To prove them wrong, he was going to cast the impossible spell, turning lead to gold, which required 6 smurfs, which didn't exist, and was therefore impossible. He was then going to eat the rest. Ok, so he was a little mad. Not mad, so much, as excentric.
um... in the books, Gargamels cat Azreal is male, in the show, it's female.
Ok, now that's too much Smurf info than you could ever want to know. Which is good because I'm out of random Smurf trivia.
Anyone read the original Peter Pan? Fairies have a long standing history of lack of decency apparently.

I didn't read the book, but I've heard things. It's amazing how many busty naked chicks run around on an island that is supposedly based on the land of a child's imagination.

And if Evil Baughb thinks that the world he remebers is imaginary, and Glee is included in that world of his imagination...

...

Excuse me, while I go beat Evil B. to a bloody pulp for thinking he imagined a naked chick...
