Truly good book. But why is Michelle reading it?

Considering the book is about assessing your motivations and figuring out what it is that you want in life, it's not an entirely random choice. At least, I don't think so. It's not the sort of thing you pick up on a whim.

Also note the "ambition" poster in the wall. Clearly she's determined to get out there and do something.

Hm, I still think they're both quite determined about obtaining their goals. Apparently he sets out to get what he wants, and so does she (to the point where she explicitly states she wants to sleep with him to get back at her dad---whether or not it's true is irrelevant to the point that she's willing to say it---and that seems to fall right in line with his "get the girl at any cost" mantra.
