Hang a tic. Answer me this, do you or do you not like the level scaling system in Oblivion?

It's a lot less broken than the one (if any) in Morrowind. I'm only level 2 and am walking around with an iron weapon, but a helmet of the second best standard armour type in the game that I found in some dungeon. I also found* a grand soul gem worth 60000 gold, but I can't cash it in anywhere because no shops ever have more than 1200 to buy your shit with.

*stole in the second mages guild quest I did, it was just sat on the table, so I took it.

Morrowind thankfully doesn't have level scaling, so if you go somewhere you shouldn't be traversing at a low level, you _will_ get your ass beat if you're not of high enough level. Are you playing PC version btw? If so, get a mod that boosts the amount of gold that Creeper has and hawk your prize off on him. Here is the one I use. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for getting 5k for it, without mucking around with trade exploits.

I swear I'm a fucking kleptomaniac in Morrowind. From the first room I was in, I stole EVERYTHING. I shit you not. Including the cutlery on the table and on shelves. Everything I could steal, was, and then sold.

I hated this, because eventually the level scaling system has a cap and everything gets really easy. I like that you can get more powerful, but I also do not want it to be so easy it is not fun.

Oblivion was generally a big disappointment, after something as great as Morrowind, it's generic, unbalanced and dumbed down.

But it was the first Elder Scrolls game to be multi-platform, so it was the first time people that weren't usually fans of RPGs played them. It was something relatively new and exciting for them that wasn't Halo or Killzone. It was also pretty, which gives a +5 to reviews.

Not entirely true; Morrowind was released on XBox as well, in fact I was introduced to MW via a friend playing it on his XBox. They seem to have learned from some of their mistakes in OB though, because they applied the lessons learned when making FO3. And overall Fallout 3 has given a richer RP experience than OB did.

So the other day I got Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, and tonight my brother and I played some co-op. It was all going good, we had done the primary objectives and had just finished off destroying some SAMS completing the secondary objectives when we realised we had a 1.6k walk to the extraction helicopter.

That's when I found the enemy helicopter just down on the beach from where we were, pretty cool right? So my brother hops in the pilot's seat and well...

he crashed it. So we walked 1.6km to the extraction point, what's more is when we got into the first firefight I got shot in the leg and couldn't sprint for the rest of the level so it took a while.

Fun game though.

This game is awesome, it's like Wurm online, only 2D.

so my name is Microwave in Haven & Hearth (what a surprise), I accidently dropped my complimentary dream early on and so I've lost that.

I also hitched a ride on some guy's boat who was going to his village, he dropped me off just down south (over the river) from the beginner area, so I'm currently in the woods there eating apples, getting branches, making rock lobster figurines (or whatever the fuck they are) and making clay pots and whatnot, one question do I need a bone hook to start fishing? Or if not how do I fish? I'm currently out of bread and am surviving on apples.

Game is good for procrastinating.

EDIT:

I'm now back on the starting island digging for worms and starving to death, a fox got me while I was exploring. Silly me.

EDITEDIT:

I need a line for my fishing rod and then I'll be alright, but I'm literally starving to death atm. Good fun though we (STFC) should totes make a village... once I get back on my feet.

You need fishing stick and a fishing skill to fish, and that's pretty much all you need to know.
Also, pottery is a great source of LP

Well the game didn't work on one computer for some reason, but now I've tried it and I'm not that impressed. Maybe it's because I haven't seen anyone and can't seem to get anywhere. I have a fishing rod, and no skill of fishing. I've walked around everywhere I possibly can, and found no food, nor trees, nor any method of levelling up.

The starting area is crap, almost every tree has been claimed. However, If you go east there will be a couple of unclaimed trees, get 200 LP by taking branches (1lp each), have your inventory open and Ctrl+Left Click to drop the branches as you get them so it's constant, it's kind of annoying but from there you should probably get pottery, much easier LP points. (Dig in the shallows on the edge of the rivers for clay, then make the clay into shit... drop all the clay shit and then start again).

Fishing you need a fishing rod (which you've got), a hook, a line and bait or a lure. I've got everything but a line and am looking for some chickens to beat to death.

I went as far East as I could, found no trees that didn't belong to other people, then reached a wide river. So I thought, might as well fish while I'm here. I then proceed to accidentally instruct my character to throw his fishing rod into the water. Then closed the browser.

Yeah, throwing the rod into water is a common mistake...

I think some dickhead has gone and cut them down (There was only two that I found on the starting island, now there's none).

So, moving away from bad, Java-based MMO games, I've begun playing Quake Live. It's pretty much just Quake 3 free and launched from a browser. It's my theory that getting better at this should make me better at things like TF2, because it's much quicker paced.

Yeah.
