Space Tree - Star Wars ]|[

Postby Borg453 on Thu May 19, 2005 12:42 am

Ok, so you'll probably all be sick of reading posts about it everywhere on the net, but it's inevitable so I'm just going to be the pawn this time:

I watched it in the cinema last night. It's good.

Without spoiling anything I'm just going to say:
*blaurrrr* *blaurrrr* <obi> Shut up! (Ok, so Obi Wan doesn't actually say 'shut up', but I would have in his place, had I attempted an stealthy approach on such a noisy 'mode of transportation')

The question remains: Will Ed make a reference or two? Will Space Trickle get aquainted with the darkside of the force?

P.s. It feels good to be "in the lead" for once. Usually, when anything 'cool' in geek entertainment culture happens, us in Scandinavia are the last to experience it.

Denmark isn't really part of scandinavia. You're really part of Germany.

And Danish isn't actually a language, it's a throat disease ;)

[SPOILER] (although mild)
On a more serious note, are you talking about the giant lizard thing? It seemed to shut up when that was required of it as I understood events...
'T is moonlight, summer moonlight,
All soft and still and fair;
The silent light of midnight
Shines sweetly everywhere,

But most where trees are sending
Their breezy boughs on high,
Or stooping low are lending
A shelter for the sky.

Now that's harsh. So what're saying is that Sweden is just a Norwegan region? ;)

Having lived in both Sweden and Germany, at least I speak most of the languages of my neighbouring countries fluently, and understand them all, save Finnish.

As for the lizard: You have to admit that it was noisy. I keep waiting for it to cry out as Obi was getting close to his mark.

Well on a more on topic note, I could imagine a scene somewhat similar to this one playing.

COMMANDER: (Dramagic close up) You were the chosen one Space Tree!
SPACE TREE: Wait, what? What the hell are you talking about?
COMMANDER: You know, to get the bagels. We picked it out of a lottery and this week, it's you.
SPACE TREE: Well you don't need to get so moody about it Commander.
COMMANDER: You're the one with the dark side space tree, or should I say dark side you are the one with?
SPACE TREE: Say nothing, for like a year. It's for the best.

Well you see, when George Lucas and science fiction love each other very much...
'T is moonlight, summer moonlight,
All soft and still and fair;
The silent light of midnight
Shines sweetly everywhere,

But most where trees are sending
Their breezy boughs on high,
Or stooping low are lending
A shelter for the sky.

I suddenly understand everything about the "Star Wars" universe, and I want to shoot Jar Jar Binks in the face and brutally cut him up, just like every fan wishes to do.

For some reason I can totally see the Commander jumping all over the place as he says that Yoda line.

Now that we're on the subject, what did everyone think of Episode 3? I thought it was very good, especially since it didn't disappoint me like 1 and 2 did. Last half hour of it, especially, was awesome.

I liked it a lot. The acting, while still not good, was still able to stir up some real emotion which the first two seemed to lack entirely, and there were much less grimace-inducing parts like anything with Jar-Jar in it. It made it much easier to just sit back and enjoy some dark science fiction action as all the pieces finally came together without having listen to "Wesa in deep doo doo now" every 2 minutes. It was also nice to see George Lucas finally playing around with the PG-13 rating by including gratuitous dismemberments and child slaughter. All in all, it was very satisfying.

Yes. Less acting and more action. In my mind it made up for the first two, though I may change my mind if I see either of them again. (Note: I don't mind acting, but I do mind the particular acting in the first three episodes of Star Wars.)

I also appreciated the child slaughter.

This post contains mild spoilers.

In my opinion, yeah i'd say the 3rd installment mostly made up for the first 2... mostly. i cant help it tho, i mean is it just me or does anikin constantly look horny? and in this one he wasn't as angsty. i can deal with angst, but in the second one it was overkill.

The dialog sucked and most of the plot didn't make sence.

alas, nothing can beat the original trilogy. not even high tech special effects and cgi. the first 2 i found them to be too babied, which is why the third was better.

YES, child slaughter is awesome. Remember kids, you cannot have slaughter without laughter.

Can't have laughter without slaughter? Isn't that the same thing though? You're just adding one letter instead of subtracting eight.
