This song was huge in India. By the standards of the day it was probably a pretty good video, if unusual (he wrote the song pretty much on a dare hence the four dudes being the same guy).

Ah, it was something about people saying that the his music videos were only popular was because there were lots of hot chicks dancing around in them. He set out to prove them wrong by making a music video that only featured him (and a lot of bluescreen). I think the song's popularity pretty was pretty much the musical equivalent of Daler shitting down their smug, elitist mouths. As for what the song is about, I think it's just a catchy love song.
