I too am hesitant about sharing the intimate details. I am in the middle of a 3 year dry spell. I'll grant that the real thing beats any depictions, but I am another "dry spell" victim. I've seen porn ranging from cheesecake to "I-can't-believe-someone-considers-THAT-to-be-sex!". Overall, I find that I like written erotica best, then video (including web cams), then drawings (Julius Zimmerman, for example), then still photos. One side note: since 1997 my motto has been "Never pay for internet porn while you can find stuff just as good for free". It still holds true today.

Shirow is lucky in that his notoriety in erotic art hasn't affected his mainstream acceptance in the manga and anime worlds overseas -- he's THAT popular. Of course, part of the reason he IS popular is for a legal dose of that cheesecake in the current comics (count the FS crotch shots in an issue of MMI -- gets tacky after a while).
