Holiday Break - Comic status for VH and ETR

Postby NotoriousMEQ on Fri Dec 17, 2004 11:09 am

Arg, life is complicated.

I had intended to use the two weeks before going home for Christmas to work a little more on both my comics and build up a buffer so they wouldn't stop while I was gone. Instead - I got sick. Real sick. For a whole week. So I missed work AND comicing. I ran through Eat The Roses' buffer and the one week buffer for VH. And now I got nothing, since THIS week I had to make up my missing days at my real job.

I'll have a VH up this weekend, probably Saturday morning. But both comics will be on a holiday break until January 5th for ETR and January 7th for VH. I'll probably run ETR daily to make up for it until the end of the story. And I'll try to do something special on the side for VH fans, like a couple of wallpapers to make up for it.

I'm at work right now - I got home after midnight last night and got very sleep before coming in this morning. At least I have an awesome job, but my husband is seriously stressed out at his, but I'm tired. I forgot to post messages on the front pages of both comics. I hope you guys can forgive me for not being better prepared for all this mess. I certainly haven't forgiven my immune system for crapping out on me.

... to clarify - I normally have Wednesday and Thursday off work, and I use those two days to draw and color all my comics. The weekeneds usually end up being too busy, and especially this close to Christmas I haven't had any free time there, even after dropping my weekly RPG group. So yeah, not having those days free just kills my comic production.

Hugs to you and your husband, Meg. Take care.

Seems quite a few cartoonists have been sick lately... I mean, Jamie (CotC) is recovering from a nasty little cold, reinder (RoCR) was also sick with a bad cold or the flu, Maritza Campos (CRfH) is having quite a bit of nauseau (morning sickness, ya know), and so forth.

Maybe it's a good thing Tangents went on hiatus a couple years ago... *looks nervous*

Take care of yourselves, okay?

But she promised!

At least VH is updating. Did I ever tell you what a pain it is to read the red head's dialogue? Also, I can't remember their names ever.

Sorry, it's tough to come back from vacation and have to go straight to work on TWO jobs. So I had to take another week off to do things like a marathon day of laundry and banking on my two "off" days that I usually reserve for comic time. Everything should be fine starting Friday, unless it takes me all day to get my SIN card tommorrow. I go to Canada and they make me get SIN. This is an evil, evil country. <3

Yeah, ditto! Where's the comic?? I wanna see it!!

I mean, I penciled three this evening and now I've got to get to bed to get ready for work. Ugh. I'm hoping to get stuff done tommorrow when I'm off. I just get so busy and sidetracked.

Hmmm, it is almost getting to the point of being 'Vigilante Who?'

The Auld Grump, who admits that he wrote this because he thought that was a neat line... :P

There will totally be some updating action this friday. And I've got a buffer on ETR.

And I did it all WITH MY MOTHER IN LAW VISITING! I am HIGH on my OWN POWER! Also, CAPS LOCK!!!

Thanks! Doing the coloring is what makes this all worthwhile. Also, the ponies.

I was about to shake you down, Joe, but then I realized, yes, totally a photo background. For Eat The Roses. Come on, there's only so much background work I'm willing to do!

My photo backgrounds aren't as cool as Joe's, though.

Heh, still struggling to get back on schedule, eh? Todays strip is nice, and as good an excuse as any as to why she is dressing as a man.

I think that it would be amusing though if it turned out that everybody already knew her 'dark' secret. But were okay with it. Bad guy tries to spill the beans and gets a universal 'yeah, so?'

Hey! I was on schedule last week! And this friday I'll be on schedule too! How pathetic is it that two weeks in a row is amazing from me. I really need to do a buffer instead of continually playing catch up. But everytime I get a buffer, I get lazy. Oh well. It'll all work out somehow!

It happens to web comics a fair amount it seems. Even Schlock Mercenary is down to a four strip buffer right now. (He usually has about two weeks ready ahead of time.)

You'll get back into the swing of things soon enough.
