I don't know any more than you do, but my guess is Matt Wilson purchased the webspace for a year or something and it just ran out and he doesn't feel like renewing it.

If you allow me to go off topic for a minute; if you search, "high score," on wikipedia, in the references section they give Matt Dawson credit for creating a flash cartoon by the name of high score.
